Mala beehoon made its debut on Aug 1st. The foundation of the gravy is the same as the white beehoon. Whole peppercorns are quite evident so if you do bite into it, expect an explosion of numbing heat. Tongue lashing spicyness with a hint of seafoody sweetness. The more you delve into it, it tickles and tingles the tastebuds for more.

Did not have lunch today so this was literally a mini bite.

It really looked cute. A very mini platter of an egg tart and soft serve on an old school pastry ball. Concocted just for our nation's birthday at $5.40++. The soft serve was refreshing but it melts too fast. It would have been enjoyable if only the texture of the pastry was crispy. This was alittle difficult to chew.

I never knew of this dish until I got to try it @uykdsg . Absolutely head over heels at first slurp and every slurp.

The tenderness of the flesh that fell off the huge slab of bone. A lingering spicyness envelops the broth. I love a broth that playfully tantalizes, scintillates and sparks mini fireworks on my tastebuds. It might be atad salty but it is comforting especially so on cool days or days when you are in the soup mood.

Satisfy hunger pangs with toasted french brioche with berries, caramelised bananas, pomegranate, poached pear drizzled heavily with anglais sauce. King prawn cappellini, burgers, flaky croissant smothered with creamy scrambled eggs.. something for everyone. My fave was the toasty fluffy brioche and all the fruitilicious components.

In celebration of our country's bicentennial, @yancantonesecuisine concocted a very beloved local dish. Steamed hainanese chicken embedded inside the glutinous rice. Not as fragrant as the normal chicken rice. This had a hint of earthyness, probably arising from the lotus leaves. Chunks of chicken inside had very little seasoning so best to eat it with the sauces.

I liked it. It was special. Chicken soup to go with it, perhaps? Only available for the month of August.

Abit on the sweeter side and a hint of heat at the end. Cockles which was to be the #epitome of this cockles char kway teow. The cockles were so tiny, one hardly noticed it.

But from what I observed, a generous amount of "cockles jus" were sploshed in during the "wok-ing" process. It is good, not mindblowing, but could be better if cockles were slightly larger.

Oyster egg is fried egg, somewhat alittle crispy and oysters thrown over. Oyster omelette is egg fried with sweet potato flour for that starchy texture. I personally preferred the former. Dunk into tangy chilli, it is simply divine.
