So I bought one of my favorite wanton noodle #inmyhood for brunch. I dislike eating from foam boxes. Thinking out of the foam box, literally, I made my noodle look more "atas" (expensive) by plating it on my blue english porcelain dish. It tasted as good as it looked.

My sense of taste is slowly creeping back. Char kway teow is a favorite. First of all, it smells good. It looks glistening. A slight oilyness. Tasted sweet with a tinge of saltyness. Crunchy beansprouts. There was just this distant hint of the breath of the wok. It was however, interesting to observe the ckt uncle doing a "jiggling dance" whilst frying. Kudos!

Today's lunch place was just a hop away as I was just too tired to go far. I could have ordered soup but it was a habit to order dry. Regret! The chilli, for some reason was really spicy. Abit too oily. And for the first time, I did not finish it.

Broth was sweet with a hint of beefyness. The beef was tender with a umami bite. Udon quite aldente but perhaps slightly thicker than usual. I like alittle heat. Thst is why chilli padis are frolicking in the broth. Good onsen egg, as you can see.

An enjoyable eat, no doubt. This was a regular portion which should be enough for small eaters. I was growing hungry after a couple of hours. I suggest a bigger bowl to stave hunger pangs away for rest of the day.
