As you can see, the kway teow was alittle charred. Sliced beef was tender. It is actually quite tasty .... just that perhaps abit salty due to the black beans and taucheo (fermented beans).

I still much prefer this chye tow kway rather than the one others raved about.

Taste of the carrot cake is evident in every bite. The umaminess of the eggs complemented by the saltyness and crunch of the chye poh. A very pleasing and satisfying mouthfeel without that cloying oilyness on the palate.

Lots to like as dish after dish presented burst with bold flavors to tease the palate. A feast for the eyes, the volcanic chicken being flambed. I did enjoy each dish, ranging from the sharksfin fish maw soup to the white fungus gingko soya bean dessert. These are like, food blast from the past. Expect an old school taste with a slight touch of modern.

A platter that spoke volumes ... sweet, sour, tangy and crunchy flavors bursting in the mouth. Does not have to be the same veges or the same plum sauce (like most places). It boils down to the same purpose of "lo-hei". Tossing for the good luck.

Prosperity Shun De yusheng. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised at how this was executed. Not your typical "lo" and "hei". The signature is truly a must have. That glistening skin will tempt your tastebuds. "Nian Nian Yo Yu" (every year got fish). Yea, my favorite soon hock steamed teochew style. Firm sweet flesh. I can eat the whole fish on my own. Prawns, pencai etc.
