Chef Seki wowed us with delectable dishes and beautifully plated, from Kani miso asparagus, hotate ceviche to Hokkaido kaisen don. Feast your eyes on a prestige grade of dried sea cucumber of an estimated orice of $550 per 120g. Honored to be able to watch Omusubi master, Satoru Kawamura from Satsubei and Gelato world master, Satoshi Takada from Rimo in action.

Noodles were more springy. Chilli had more heat and an addictive spicy kick. Now noodles were thicker. Chilli was sweet.

My palate tells me, there is no "wow" in the "wow factor". However, if you like sweet and vinegary, this is decent for your tastebuds. I prefer mine without the sweetness.

The decision to have frog legs for lunch came as a result of hours of retail therapying for Chinese New Year.

Quite a popular eatery with the young, not so young, old and not so old. This place has been here for decades. Everything on the menu were served in claypots. Claypots, big and small, went through the sands of time. Mine was a small one with a big chunk of the pot broken off. Very rustic look and definitely well seasoned.

Tender frog legs in black sauce, spring onions and ginger, accompanied with a bowl of very steaming hot porridge. Love the sweetness and the saltyness enveloping my plain white porridge. Yusheng with abalone. With lychee pearls that goes pop pop in the mouth. Delightful and not so sweet. @goldleafsingapore has 4 different set menus ranging from $388++. We were indeed privileged to be the first to try out some of the dishes. Flavors with a very homey feel especially so the panfried prawns which tasted like how my late mum used to cook. The deepfried seabass, deboned and certainly very crispy. Doused with sweet and sour sauce.
