Happy 57th Birthday Singapore🇸🇬! Celebrating National Day with one of our favourite local foods, Kaya toast and coffee, today😋. We've been eating at YY Kafei Dian since young, and it’s a nice childhood memory for us👭. Love the bread for its slightly crispy crust, thick, soft and fluffy texture🍞! Having a coffee here to go along with the Kaya Buns is also a must as the coffee is strong and fragrant, just the way we love it☕. Simply the perfect local afternoon tea~😀

Major love for the kopi from Kopi More, which is brewed with an espresso machine. The result is a strong, fragrant and smooth cup of kopi☕. We much prefer the hot over the ice version even though we love ice coffee🧊, as the hot kopi tastes stronger and is more fragrant. Definitely a perfect afternoon teabreak drink to have😍! This might just be one of our favourite kopis in Singapore. True to its name, you just want more😉!

Had a super comforting bowl of braised pork rice today😋. Able to choose from different cuts of meat for the rice bowls and we tried the Braised Pork Cheek Set and added on a portion of Pork Belly🍲. Highly recommend getting the Pork Cheek🥩! Despite it being a lean cut of meat, it was super tender and just melts in your mouth! Also liked that the set came with other ingredients like egg, black fungus, vegetables🥬 etc., it was really filling! The sauce was not too salty but, as all the ingredients were braised in the same sauce and the rice🍚 was also covered in it, the taste did get a little one-dimensional over time. Still, for the wonderfully braised meats, it's worth a try☺️!

Tucked away in a corner of Far East Plaza is Hong Hu Express, a small and cosy store that specializes in noodles🍜 and dumplings. Loved their generous portion of Ban mian with vegetables🥬, minced meat, mushroom and egg🍳. The noodles had a good bite and the soup was delicious, really yummy and affordable! The Pan-fried dumplings, though a little oily, was crispy, juicy and had a good amount of filling in it🥟. A must-order to go along with your noodles😋!

Took advantage of Cedele's 25th anniversary discount and tried their mains😬! The Mushroom Medley Pasta fared better as we liked the taste of the cashew cream pasta🍝 with mushrooms🍄 and broccolini, but it got a little heavy towards the end. We'll probably just be sticking to their cakes next time, especially the Carrot Walnut Cake which is our all-time favourite☺️!

Took advantage of Cedele's 25th anniversary discount and tried their mains😬! Was excited for the Beetroot Avocado🥑 Burger but was pretty disappointed that they didn't have the spinach bun that day, as we really wanted to try it🥯. Also, we didn't exactly fancy the taste and texture of the beetroot patty and found it too mushy for our liking.

Worth a try is also the Braised Pork Belly Burger! Super juicy and tender pork belly piled in a well-baked bun🥯. Had it while it was still piping hot and it was so comforting🤤. Food that may seem simple but done so well. Highly recommend to try if you're in the area🤩!

Tried Biang Biang Noodles today, a Xi'an specialty and we loved it☺️! These are long, thick and broad noodles mixed with tomato egg🍅, vegetables, pork and some chilli. We especially loved the texture of the noodle, as it was thick and chewy and the sauce just coats so well on the broad noodles, super nice and flavourful🍜!

We woke up at 7am to reserve these tarts from June Bakery, and was so nervous we wouldn't be able to call through but whew we did🙆‍♀️! If there's just one thing you should get, it's definitely the Orh Nee Tart. Super buttery and crumbly tart shell filled smooth yam paste and gingko nuts, it's really good🥧!! Tried their Cheese Tarts too but we much prefer the orh nee over cheese🧀, so we'll probably just be sticking to their Orh Nee items in the future. You simply can't go wrong with these🤩!

Had a great pitas night at Miznon😀! We loved their pita bread, super soft and fluffy. It's nice to have it on it's own with the nutty and savoury tahini, and also with different fillings in it🥙. They were all pretty good, but what surprised us was the Falafel Burger. The falafel patty was soft and moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside, super good and unlike what we've had before🤩!! Ended on a sweet note with the Tatami Biscuit Cake🍰, an Israeli tiramisu, and whew, we were stuffed at the end😗!

Huge fan of Japanese cafes and we had to check Boyutei off our list✨🤩 🌿 Our favourite was definitely the Goma Matcha Crepe filled with a slightly bitter matcha cream, topped with goma crumble and a scoop of matcha ice cream!💕Although there is the option of adding an extra scoop of ice cream, would have love it if they were slightly more generous with the ice cream🤔

Huge fan of Japanese cafes and we had to check Boyutei off our list✨🤩 🌿The Ebi Katsu was really moist and crispy (not oily at all) and paired well with the chili sauce which added a nice hint of spiciness😌 Flavour wise the Seafood Mentaiko Crepe tasted seafood-ey and we love mentaiko!! But texture wise was a bit too soggy😅
