Visited Orchard Yong Tau Foo today for some affordable eats in the Somerset area☺️! Great variety of ingredients which ranged from vegetables🥬 to tofu and fishball etc., and they all tasted fresh! Loved their soybean broth, very flavourful and palatable to have with the ingredients. Added on beehoon which soaked up some of the lovely broth, super yummy as we slurped it up🍜. Overall a tasty and comforting meal🤤!

Also ordered an Azuki Butter Brioche but it was pretty disappointing as well. The brioche was too dry🍞, the taste of the salted butter🧈 was too overpowering and we would've preferred the red beans to be a little mashed up to give it a better texture. What a shame though, as the place was really beautiful and great for spending a chill afternoon at😕!

Visited a new cafe along Beach Road today😄! Had the Cloud Iced Cappuccino which was super instagrammable, but it deflated real quick so do snap your shots quickly☁️!! Taste wise, we felt that it was too milky and the coffee was on the acidic side, not something we would prefer☕.

Discovered a hidden gem in Punggol today which serves affordable Sashimi Dons and Makis😄! Do try the Makis too as they're super good as well. Our favourite was the Soft Shell Crab Maki🦀, which we felt was the best version we ever had! It's well-fried, crunchy and meaty, unlike some soft shell crabs which are too hard and you only can taste the shell😖. These Sashimi Dons and Makis are really a steal at it's price-point so do show them some support if you're in the area🙌!

Had a quick afternoon tea☕ at Toast Box today, and tried their Floss Thick Toast for the first time. We liked that there was a lot of pork floss piled on the toast🍞! But overall, it felt a tad too dry and we wished there was more condensed milk😟. Perhaps, instead of drizzling the condensed milk on top, it could be slathered on the toast instead...🤤 yums that would be perfect!

Tiong Bahru Galicier Pastry's one of our favourite places to get traditional kuehs, and we're so sad that they're closing down soon😫! Got ourselves a last round of kuehs and pastries, including the Putu Ayu, Kueh Salat, Kueh Dadar, Kueh Ambon, Custard Tart and Custard Puff🤤. We exceptionally love their Putu Ayu, which is steamed pandan sponge cake with grated coconut🥥and flavoured with gula melaka. The pandan sponge cake is soft and airy, and not too sweet when topped with the sweet and savoury grated coconut, making it a perfect light afternoon snack☕! The Kueh Dadar is good too, as the crepe is soft and the grated coconut is fragrant. We love their pastries as they're delicious and not too sweet, making it perfect for everyone in our family🙌. Will miss it dearly when it's gone😢!

Happy Father's Day🤵! Our dad really likes Taiwanese food, so we brought him to try Abundance today. Went a bit earlier before they opened as we didn't have a reservation and we're glad we did, as a queue started forming even before they open🙂. We recommend getting the Gua Bao! Huge slab of tender pork belly🥩 with melt-in-the-mouth fat, fragrant peanuts🥜 and pickles in a soft bun. Loved how the different flavours and textures came together. However, we did feel that it was a bit on the sweeter side as compared to what we had before in Taiwan. Still a delicious bun though👍! Overall we liked the food we had at Abundance. The mains, sides and desserts were pretty good, great food in a casual setting☺️!

Have been eyeing the tarts from Tarte by Cheryl Koh for a while now as they look so pretty and delicious, and we finally got to try them some time back🤤. Had the Pandan Coconut Tart🥥, a flavour that is less common and it was pretty good! The filling tastes like kaya with a mild pandan fragrance, and the tart pastry was buttery and crumbly, not oily at all👍!

The Pistachio Soufflé was on the airy side and it almost feels like eating clouds hahaha☁️. For us who prefer our soufflé to be on the cakier side, we didn't really enjoy the texture of this. We also felt that the raspberry sorbet that came with it was a little too tart for our liking😥. Overall, a nice place for fancy desserts but definitely on the pricier side😅.

Kinda sad that they removed the sundae soup from their menu🥺but we got the Dak Bal and omg this was so addictive!! The Dak Bal came in this spicy sauce that taste better as the sauce gradually boils down and thickens. Mix the chicken feet (deboned it ourselves) with some rice balls, half boiled egg and top it with some sauce is so so good🥰Also have it with the steamed eggs if you find the chicken feet a little spicy🥵Although the prices are not cheap, will definitely want to return with more people to try more food!😄

Heading to the Tanjong Pagar on a Friday night is kinda insane, with long queues forming outside most restaurants🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♂️Todamgol is a Korean restaurant that we enjoy visiting and is (in our opinion) worth the wait! Get the Mo Deum Jun if you can’t decide which pancake to get😂 and while everything in the platter is good, our favourites are the pollack, eggplant and shirmp🥰
