Singtel's promo of 1 free crab lured me to this place! It was our very first time trying curry crab. It's served in a claypot, surrounded by lotsa lemongrass, brinjal &lady's fingers. The gravy was great as an onsen for your fried mantous! Not too jelat &i drank quite a few spoonfuls of it. The crab thou not big (about 600-700g), was really fresh. The meat was firm!
We also got a small serving of clam beehoon soup which i fell in love with. The broth was lightly sweetened by the abundant clams in the claypot, coupled with the light scent of the thin ginger strips. It's one of those perfect rainy day food for the soul!
1 curry crab + 1 clams beehoon + 1 sweet potato leaves + 6 mantous + 1 lime juice for less than $30. Strongly recommended for all fellow foodies who're part of Singtel's clientele!
Step into the cosy shop and be greeted by the aroma of thyme! That's bcos they make the thyme cones in the shop!
All-time favourite would be the Chrysanthemum with cocoa nibs. It features a light scent of the flowers, not too sweet and has the crunch from the cocoa nibs.
The staff briefed us on the various buffet stations while walking us to our seats. Really welcoming!
The seafood on ice section consisted of lobsters, oysters, a few variations of crabs, snow crab leg, mussels &clams. They're fresh and there's nv a moment that the section ran out of them! No more camping there waiting for lobsters to be replenished or giving death stares to those who took a tad too much, leaving too little left for you.
Also commendable were the grilled chicken wings (from the outdoor bbq station), butter naan, gratin mashed potato and LAKSA! The laksa will be cooked upon request by the chef. No more diy and scratching your head over how long to cook the noodles for! The noodles were cooked to perfection. They're so good to slurp on aft taking a dip in the rich creamy broth! If only there's some blood cockles to go along!
The desserts section was scattered with many pleasant looking petite pastries! Best had to be the Melt Signature chocolate cake! Pair the desserts with some TWG tea (included in the buffet pricing) to cleanse your palates.
&They prepared a small Melt Signature cake in celebration of my friend's birthday! Really thoughtful as we didn't have to remind them other than indicating so during reservation. The staff took great group photos too! Our top buffet choice so far!
Pleasant BBT Experience:
Sampling a small shot of cheese four seasons tea when i asked "what's four seasons tea?".
+
Witnessing the scooping of thick &creamy cheese from a mixing bowl (seems that they make it fresh at the shop!)
=
Leaving the shop $4.80 poorer, but with a cuppa aromatic, cheesy tea and satisfied grin. Visit on Mondays &Fridays for 20% off!
The chicken satay were rly tender but still hit your senses with that lightly grilled aroma. Drizzle some sesame sauce over &it tastes like yakitori!
Som Tam hit all the right notes - good balance of sour &spicy levels. It could have been perfect with the salty aroma from some dried shrimps!
Tom Yum Goong and Oozy Chicken were good too.
&Do pair your food with a beaker of Coconut Mojito! (No, it doesnt contain alcohol but it's rly refreshing!)
Ramen, not your usual meekia! The ramen looks like the jap kind but has the chew of those chinese handmade noodles! The broth was on the saltier side but rly flavoursome. The bowl of noodles was topped with a generous serving of soy chicken, half a tamago, kailan &a piece of seaweed. FOR $6.50++. I APPROVE!
Fragrant rice,
Good chilli,
Crispy peanuts &ikan bilis,
ALL CHECKED âś”
Two pieces of chicken, well-marinated and no one round the table could bear to throw the skin away. TOO GOOD.
The sambal lalas were really sweet, probably some white wine were poured into them (?)
Chendol was a small bowl, NOT MEANT TO BE SHARED. The gula melaka was of the right dosage, not too sweet &it'a simply satisfying to be having a bowl all to yourself in our crazy hot weather.
$5 for a bowl of comforting peppery soup! the kway are all curled into rolls, together with pig's stomach, lean meat, fish sausage &crispy siobak! perfect for supper/dinner on a rainy day in your hood but do note that it closes at 1030pm.
highly recommend their fish sausage which packs a punch of flavour!
Aftering walking through the shopfront selling bicycles, you’ll see the cafe which is just behind a glass door.
60 degrees Chicken Breast was tender but taste wise, wasn’t amazing. The Mentaiko Pasta seemed to be lacking of the kick.
The Ice Espresso Ball, thou fancy, lacked that caffeine kick and was too mild for a coffee lover.
Deconstructed Strawberry Cheesecake &Buttermilk Waffles again, didn’t got us hooked.
In essence, worth your $25 for a lunch set (use Burpple Beyond!) to get your tummies filled.
The beehoon soaks up the tasty broth super well! Even better than the rice. Prawns are big &fresh, living up to expectations. What makes this stall different is the minced pork which has slices of mushrooms in them. The balls of minced pork are gratifying, especially so after taking a dip into the chilli sauce!
Even without adding the clams/crayfish/fish maw, the soup already tastes divine.
Not a fan of garlic, but the tom yum pizza was a score straight into my heart! Heapfuls of coriander coupled with the shrimps on the thin crust makes it really palatable.
Light, not jelat! Totally unlike the other garlicky items on the menu :P
We got the big breakfast &eggs benedict!
Big breakfast was real good with a thick slab of bacon. Not your typical thin, crispy bacon. It’s chewy &has a nice charred scent to it. Generous serving of avocado, huge portobello cap, creamy scrambled eggs, sausage etc. Mega hearty &great to be shared between two!
*Skip the iced latte for the mocha instead.
