Korean glass noodles in BBQ sauce with spicy chicken and onsen egg, garnished with furikake and ebi-roe. Loved this Korean-Japanese fusion concept with the option to Build-your-own-bowl as well. Lots of options so there's lot of possible combinations and taste-wise, it's pretty good too! 👍🏻
It's been awhile since I've had Japanese so Friday date night saw us at Chikuwa Tei. Went for Cod instead of my usual Salmon for a nice change. Loved the slightly sweet teriyaki glaze on the fish and the really fresh, melt-in-your-mouth meat. The dinner set comes with rice, miso soup and fresh fruit. ($26)
It's been awhile since I've last had a salad bowl so this detox feels good 😊 Went for the salad option for $8.40 (you can choose olive rice too) and added $2.20 for my protein of choice. One of the more value-for-money salads considering the decent portion will definitely fill you up!
Curry Gardenn is well-establishing itself as one of my favourite place for good northern Indian food fix. So glad to find out there's an outlet at HillV2! My usual orders: Garlic naan dipped in the very flavourful Chicken Vindaloo curry sauces and the tomato-based Brinjal Masala. Oh and their Ginger Tea is really good and very gingery too!
Chanced on this cafe with a lovely ambience and al fresco dining area within Botanic Garden; and is one of restaurants closer to the gate at the Botanic Garden mrt. The pizza was topped with a sweet-salty combination of caramelised onions and bacon, but definitely not truffle-ly enough for my liking. And also, found the pizza dough a little too tough and chewy after awhile. Preferred the tomato-based pasta dish; the braised beef was well-cooked and really tasty 😊
Stuffed pasta with crab and lobster meat tossed with calamari served in home made marinara sauce.
Had some serious Egg Thosai cravings and Springleaf does some really yummy ones with the crispy thin edges! There's something about the sourness of the batter I really like. The adventurous choice of salted egg prawn prata was a miss for me though; the salted egg and cheesy mix was way too gelat and the prawns were like tiny shrimp kinds.
Sous vide eggs, mushroom ragout, wilted spinach, macadamia nuts and a touch of truffle oil. I need to learn how to make this at home. 😍 Also, freshly squeezed orange juice because decaf-weekends means abstaining entirely from coffee.
A warm soupy bowl of spaghetti with a generous amount of clams. Incredibly affordable for a decent portion too. The refillable drinks counter was pretty cool too. The baked rice dishes and bacon-cheese appetiser were pretty meh though; the portion was way too small. Had to queue on a weekday dinner but luckily wasn't a long wait for a table for 3!
Really loving this combination, so inspired to make my own Hummus now and slather it generously on toast. Topped with a pinch of rosemary spices and drizzled with a touch of olive oil elevates not just the taste but the aesthetics. What's great is also the numerous ovens at the back (yup freshly baked) and the health benefits of Sourdough toast. A great breakfast option at a quaint corner of Serene center. I see myself back her for more of their other Sourdough toast options for sure. 😛🍞
The ramen noodles here were too fat and thick for my liking. Personally prefer the thinner kind of noodles. Went for my preferred Shoyu broth option which was pretty ordinary. I think this ramen place is better know for their Tonkatsu version so probably give that a try when you're here! Had to queue and wait for around 10 mins on a Friday night dinner, which isn't too bad!
