Noodles, eggs and a broth to simply dip in. Sounds simple but it’s not and Sanpoutei knows how to do it right. Perfectly cooked noodles with a concentrated broth to coat each dip of the ramen noodles... bliss!
Just one look at this picture and you can imagine how nicely the sauce binds everything together. Love the various types of mushrooms that came with the dish and the tofu had a green spinach like topping to it that was delightful.
The pork belly simply melts in your mouth and they balance that with bits of crispy ramen, white fluffy rice, pickled cucumber, and an onsen egg with miso cream that binds everything together. Some might feel there’s too much going on in the bowl but I really did enjoy it.
A good side dish to add to your meal, felt the dumplings could have been fried a little better and judging from the dark char but lack of a crusty bite was that the temperature might have been too hot. The tasted pretty good and left me wanting more.
Tucked inside of Golden Mile tower is this little Japanese eatery serving a promotional lunch set that comes with a miso soup and hot/ice green tea. The Tori Teppan Don was pretty good and well cooked, I especially enjoyed the fried garlic bits and wished the rice was more drenched in the teriyaki sauce.
A couple of friends have rated this to be their favourite Hokkien Mee and you wouldn’t fault them. There are many variants to this dish and this stall does it with a pretty good balance for my taste buds. There’s a good ratio of beehoon to Mee, not too wet and each dish is individually re-fried just before serving.
Chances upon this place following a walk around the office area to discover new places, and it was PACKED for a Wednesday night. I’ve always been a fan of simple flavours of salt & pepper when it comes to meats and always thought smoking would overpower the taste, but I’m starting to come around and appreciate a good smokehouse. We ordered a mix of Beef Short Plate ($11/100g), Smoked Pork Belly ($9/100g) and the behemoth Beef Short Rib ($11/100g) along with a side of coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Everything was really good and you can taste the quality of the meats they use! Make sure you wash it all down with a pint of beer to cap the full experience!
Love to order this to go with a garlic naan to dip up all the delicious sauce. The chicken is nice and tender, but the star of the show is the gravy!
I knew I had to get this dish once I saw it placed down at the neighbouring table. The glossy sauce and strong smell of the Chinese wine will be the first thing that hits you, but as you taste all of the components of the dish... it evolves into this deep complex flavour that is surprising for such a simple dish.
I love how the soup soaks up the noodles and slightly thickens as a result of all the excess flour. The flavour of the soup also takes on the other ingredients and ends up being such a wonderful mix of flavours that makes each mouthful a dream!
Heard so much about this famous stall and finally got a chance to try this. I went with the meatball combination and added the sze chuan vegetables to that extra texture and flavour. The noodles are cooked perfectly and the sauce that goes with the dry version gives it this super glossy coating! The soup provided on the side is super good too! All in all... a great dish to enjoy on a rainy day!
Just love the packaging of this drink as it comes in this cutely labeled bottle, but what’s great about it was the drink itself. The tea flavour was Super gao and the sweetness was on point for my taste. It’s also a lovely cafe to come chill and hang out and enjoy this beverage.
