we got the smaller portion which has 8 meatballs. If you are wondering why my plate of meatball has an unusual amount of gravy sauce, yes, it is because we requested for more sauce! Super love the sauce here! Goes well with both the meatballs and mashed potatoes!

As for the chicken wings, I think it is my 3rd or 4th time eating it. Not sure why people rave it as a nice chicken wing. Every single time I eat it, I still conclude that I do not like their chicken wings. It isnt wow. It isnt hot (it isnt warm, it was served at ROOM temperature). It wasnt marinated. I think even old chang kee chicken wings is better (my same comment every time i eat ikea's chicken wings).

Not sure why, but no salmon was available at IKEA during our visit? So we ended up getting a garlic toast and mushroom soup to complete the meal!

-Combo B Moo Moo: Black Pepper Beef and Rendang Beef
-Combo C Seafood Galore: Mentaiko Dory Fish + Butter Prawn

The don all comes with coconut rice, flowy onsen egg, very crrispy tempura enoki mushroom, peanuts & ikan bilis, daikon and sambal chili!

My favourite protein item here is the signature pork belly! It was unexpectedly good! Smoky fragrance, nicely charred, and the balance of fat to meat ratio was just nice! The Black Pink Calamari was also super aesthetic! It is actually calamari rings coated in black charcoal flour and with pretty pink mayo sauce!

They offer delicious food and drinks, as well as live music from local and local talent musicians!

Here is what we ordered ~~
-Onion Blossom: Super pretty onion blossom! Best for sharing for 4 pax and above.
-Calamari Rings: Delightful crunchy breaded squid rings!
-Chicken: This is their SIGNATURE item and the MUST order! The BEST roast chicken I have ever eaten! The chicken is expertly marinated in a 24-hour brine with homemade butter rub and roasted to such perfection that it was super juicy! Comes with a side of very creamy! mashed potatoes too.
-Pork Chop: This was also quite good! The pork was not tough, and tasted more like a chicken! There was a zesty flavour twist to the pork chop as well as it is marinated in a citrus-infused oil. Served alongside a tangy pineapple salsa and mashed potatoes.
-Fish & Chip: This fish and chip is beer battered! Comes with crispy fries and homemade tartar dip!
-Spag Seafood Marinara: The pasta sauce was quite nice and the spaghetti was cooked till al dente. Come with squid rings, prawns and mussels!

Steamed fishes from 吃了吗 Chi Le Ma!

This shop has been on my to-visit list for the longest time! Famous for their value for money steamed fish set meals! Finally made a trip there one fine weekend! The stall only opens 1030am-2pm (mon closed). When we reached at 10.25am, there was already a snaking queue of more than 10 people infront of us (we didn't know they were SOOO popular still!). Anyway, they started accepting orders at 1030am, and it took another 30minutes before it was our turn (people infront of us were buying so many sets at one go)!

We opted for the Salted Black Beans Steamed Fish Set Meal (Set 4) and Chopped Chilli Steamed Fish Set Meal (Set 5). Both set costs $6.50 each and they come with white rice and chawanmushi!

I like how the steamed fish came with vermicelli too! Quite a substantial portion of fish given, but must be very careful of the fish bones while eating! However somehow I feel the sauces can be more salty (slightly too plain for me now).

But as the queue is soooo long, I don't think I will queue for it again. Try once will do!

Steamed dimsum for sore throat days!! Pricey though $14.30 for these 3 items. But comfort food for the tumtum

Lost count of the number of times I have patronised this place for dim sum! This is the go-to place whenever I feel like eating dimsum, but sick of the dimsum near to my house (there are around 7 famous dim sum shops near my place lol), because the prices here are considered affordable (as compared to the more famous dim sum shops).

Was also having sore throat during the day of the visit, hence it explains all the steamed dimsum selected here! The best find was the steamed carrot cake!! It was exceptionally good (have always been ordering the fried carrot cake previously, so happy to discover this gem)! The chee cheong fan was also smooth!

The worst item here was the beancurd roll. The fillings seemed pink and sticky... I don't even know if it was cooked LOL

For the past 3 years, we have tried many times to eat Holy Grill, but they always get sold out by the time we visit in the early evening!

So happy to finally see them still accepting orders when we visited at around almost 7pm timing! Got the BBQ chicken chop and Teriyaki Chicken Chop! Tasty rice was sold out already, so we opted for fries, potato salad and baked potato.

This was not my first time eating their food, as I have enjoyed their chicken chop in the past and wanted to introduce my dining partner to the nice food here. But.....the food fell short of expectations!! The grilled chicken was overly cooked I think, so it was quite hard and not soft and tender! The fries were also kinda overly fried and hard. Turns out the potato salad was the best side dish out of the lot.

Not sure if the standard was below average just for the day of our visit, or whether their food quality has really gone down the hill. Anyone else tried this recently?

Mr & Mrs Mohgan Super Crispy Roti Prata!

One of the crispiest prata in Singapore! Have eaten this countless times, and still not sick of it! My favourite prata brunch to have along the Joo Chiat Road stretch!

We visited on a late Saturday morning (around 9.45am), and it took almost 45 minutes for the food to be served!

I super love how they can make the prata so crispy! Even the Egg prata! Usually egg prata elsewhere are all soggy and soft, but this was sooo crispy! Ask for fish curry here (if you do not like lamb curry like me)!

Tip: Head straight to order the prata when you arrive! Find seats ONLY after you have ordered your prata!

Have walked by Wu Pao Chun many times, but FINALLY decided to buy a bread to try as I was feeling indulgent!

Got the Ah-Pollo ($2.70) to try as it looked pretty interesting to me! Baked Boluo bun layer filled with milky custard filing, supposed one of Taiwan's Childhood Favourite!

However, the bread kinda of fell short of my expectations. Thought the bun was slightly dry and I was expecting more flowly milky custard filling LOL. Also, I think I am more of a savoury bread person than a sweet bread person, so I think I could not really appreciate this bread!

Anyone has any MUST try bread to recommend at Wu Pao Chun? Let me know!
