I have been eating this almost once every month for awhile now, but still not sick of it! This is the kind of the comfort that is so good that I do not mind eating it often! My typical orders here are the banmian soup/dry with meatball! On this visit however, we wanted to get the meehoonkueh soup version for the other bowl, but somehow the orders were not taken properly and we got a banmian soup instead (their staff communication seems to have a lot of issues, as other customer also seemed to have got their orders wrong too ohwell).
But anw, L32 has opened a new stall at Aljunied market area at 118 Aljunied Ave 2! They are located at the second floor foodcourt (above sheng shiong)! This foodcourt is air conditioned and there is much more space (shorter queue it seems too)! So if you will like to try this, head to their newer outlet instead of the original outlet at Lorong 32 Geylang (long queue, long wait, not enough seats, non-airconditioned, table dining along the road)
If you are sick of the typical usual western menu served in most other cafes, check out this cafe, which serves Korean Japanese Fusion Food! They are well known for their Dosirak Rice Bowl, Dalgona Honeycomb Coffee, Hojicha Pudding and many more!
Featured here are the following items:
-Signature Premium Dosirak Rice Bowl: First in Singapore! The Dosirak Rice Bowl is served in traditional lunchboxes! It comes with Korean spam, sunny side up, stir fried kimchi, crispy seaweed and salted squid. Give it a good shake to mix up the ingredients before digging in!
-Salmon Fillet with Grilled Onigiri Rice: The salmon fillet was grilled to perfection. Grilled onigiri rice was a perfect match for it!
-Gui's Tamagoyaki: Tamagoyaki egg lovers, you HAVE to get this! Comes with torched cheese, ebiko and mayo.
-Sweet Potato Fries: Love this so much! Crispy fries with mayo side dip!
-Dalgona HoneyComb Coffee: The signature in-house coffee to try!! Comes served with dalgona honeycomb blocks!
-Hot Matcha Latte: Thumbs up! There is option of getting oat milk too (+$1)
-Hojicha Pudding: Don't leave the cafe without trying their in-house special hojicha pudding! Jiggly and smooth! Perfect dessert to round up a satisfying cafe meal here!
Check them out at the following location:

I have been eating Sukiya almost once every other week! My typical order is the charcoal grilled yakitori with half boiled egg ($6.90). This is actually my first time trying other dishes - teriyaki salmon with half boiled egg ($11.90) and added on a sides of tori karage!
Glad to report that this didnt disappoint! The salmon was not overcooked hard but just nicely rightly cooked, and it was thinly sliced with tasty teriyaki marination. Enjoyed it so much!! Will order this again next time!
One of my favourite chinese dessert stall place is @chowzandessert ! This brand is now only located at lavender area!
(The paya lebar outlet is now under another name and doesnt have the white cendol without any toppings anymore!)
Hehe so when i visited the lavender outlet, i knew without thinking what my order would be - white cendol with no toppings! (Hehe the one in my cover photo with redbeans and corn were ordered by my family).
Must come at least once! You will fall in love with their unique white chendol dessert!
Googled before heading down and read that the MUST order here is the Prawn Cake ($10 for 4 pieces)! And my my, it was such a good recommendation! The prawn cake here are very special, and different from all the other prawn cakes I have ever eaten! What is so special is that their prawn cakes have added LONG BEANS to it! I also spotted some Thai Lime Leaves in the prawn cake as well! Because of these unique ingredient addition, the prawn cake was crunchy, juicy, and had citrusy taste! Best paired with the sweet thai chilli sauce.
For mains, we got the basil pork rice ($8) and Fried Glass Noodle ($8). The basil pork rice was not super spicy, but I thought it could do better with more sauce. The glass noodle had a different taste as well, and it was less oily. Prawns used in the glass noodle was very fresh!
Check them out at 512 Geylang Road, Lor 28 Geylang, 389468 !
Tze Char Dinner Meal at Lai Huat Signatures!
My third time having tze char from here! Ordered the below dishes
-Fried Prawn Paste Chicken Wings (8 for $12)
-Fried Beehoon ($6)
-Black Bean Sauce Hor Fan ($6)
-Sambal Fried Rice ($6)
-Hokkien Mee ($6)
I like that the prices for this tze char is still kinda affordable! There are other tze char stalls around that charge at least $8 nowadays!
Favourite item was the prawn paste chicken wings for sure! Fried Beehoon had much wokhey taste too! Was sad that the black bean sauce hor fan didnt have the option of all fish slices only. Sambal fried rice was not spicy at all though. Hokkien Mee did not use the flat type of noodle, but was the rounded yellow noodle (which I dont really like, so I did not eat this heh)
But still an affordable option for tze char if you are around this area! Best of all, no long queue!
Nourishing Meal at Tan Ser Seng!
This is one of the place that I have been wanting to try for a very long time! Finally made a trip down a week ago!
We got the following food items:
-Herbal Cordyceps Chicken Soup ($15++)
-Jade Tofu ($10++)
-Preserved Radish Omelette ($10++)
-Yam Rice ($1.60++)
This place is actually known for their turtle soup, but we are chickens who dare not try, so we got the safest choice which was the Herbal Cordyceps Chicken Soup! Do note that the soup refills here are only for the turtle soup and not for the other soup! We also got the super interesting Jade Tofu to try, which was not bad! The chilli sauce dip is like the dip for the sambal stingray, sour and spicy!
Come here for a nutritious tasty meal! They are at 29 Lor Bakchok Singapore 387791
Went back to Yuu Xiang Dam for a second visit in just two weeks, but this time at the other smaller outlet at 340 Geylang Rd #01-11 S389365
For this trip, we got the Muak Muak Ice Almond and Black Sesame ($9.80). We thought that this flavour was pretty special! This came with peanut shavings, redbeans, mochi cubes as well has a cream roll biscuit!
Good place to head to for quality chinese dessert at the Geylang Area. But if you want more comfortable seating, head to their other bigger cafe outlet at 83A/85A Geylang Road Level 2 Singapore 389200
Visited Rasa Sayang Western Food to try their CHICKEN CHOP after watching @eatbook 's youtube video on chicken chops in Singapore!
Ordered two sets of chicken chop ($7.50) for both of us. While the price was pretty steep for a coffee shop meal, the price was still ok if you compare to other western meals.
However, the chicken chop was not as MIND BLOWING as we expected it to be. To us, the food was pretty average? My main gripe was that the food was served lukewarm?? Even though we had to wait for the food to be served with a buzzer, the food was somehow not hot? Even the grilled chicken chop (understandable for the sides which will be pre-prepared for all the mains)
The sides here are fixed - garlic bread, coleslaw, baked beans, French fries. For those who do not eat coleslaw etc like me, you can make a special request to change it to more fries.
As for the creamy mushroom sauce that online reviews raved about, it was not WOW to us. The sauce tasted more like tomatish sauce to us, though we liked the addition of mushrooms to it.
The chicken chop itself was nicely grilled and juicy. Just that I felt that it lacked in marination.
Will I eat it again? Sure, if I am in the area. But I will not purposely travel all the way to Ang Mo Kio just to eat it.

Eating Bee Kia Restaurant twice in under 3 days!
On this second visit, we got the following items:
-Fish Hor Fan ($6)
-Hokkien Mee ($5)
-Har Cheong Gai (4 chicken wings for $10)
Forgot to request specifically for the fish hor fan to be in the signature black bean sauce! Remember to put in this special request if you like it to be so!
Har Cheong Gai tasted better than the last time I tried it 3 years ago. I must say I enjoy it more now!

Hollywood duck rice used to be my go-to duck rice stall when i was a kid and when they were situated at Haig Road area (the coffeeshop used to be at where kinex mall now stands). And i used to call it the 7-up store, as they used to store their braised duck sauce in these 7-up bottles or smth as far as I rmbr.
Fast forward many years later, they are now at Sims Vista market and food centre! Have been eating it quite frequently in the last 3-10 years!
This visit was a revisit after a few months of not eating it, and the first time dining in! $4 for this plate of braised duck rice with more zhup plus.
As it was my first time dining in, it was also my first time trying the soup which turns out to be too herbal and strong duck tasting to me.
However, the braised duck taste during this visit seemed to be quite strong (and im not v fond of strong duck tasting meat)! Will be retrying the other braised duck stall that is also at sims vista market for my next trip to do a comparison!
