Chanced upon Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang at Novena United Square food court accidentally. Saw the iconic chicken logo and michelin guide stamp and knew i had to try it.
Decided to get the chicken wing set ($5.50) before i realised this was the famous nasi lemak ayam taliwang i wanted to try at yishun hawker after seeing it on zermatt’s youtube video! But argh too late, order already put through! Making a mental note to try the $6.90 set the next time (refer to last photo for the best signature items)!
But nevertheless, this basic chicken wing nasi lemak set was still 100/100! YES, it was so freaking good i daresay it is my top favourite nasi lemak in Singapore now!
What i like about the food is that they were all served hot! Chicken wing and begedil were all hot! But it could also be because i arrived early at early lunch timing!
The fried chicken wing was crispy and so juicy and very well seasoned! Dirtying 8 fingers to eat this was all worth the effort!
I also love the sunny side up egg with the oozy egg yolk! Never a fan of overcooked eggs that other nasi lemak stalls sell!
The peanuts and ikan bilis were also super crispy!
And as for the basic ingredients to evaluate whether a nasi lemak is good - the rice and sambal chilli sauce was on point! The rice was fluffy and fragrant, and the looks of it kinda reminds me of chicken rice, but it tastes just like nasi lemak!
Scrapped clean my plate of nasi lemak. This is a plate of nasi lemak that is worth eating! 👏With the food dynasty card, you get an additional 10% discount so it only costs $4.95!
Second revisit to @nanyangdao ! This time to try their penang prawn mee noodle ($6.80)! This was a solid bowl of prawn noodles! So much better than the other typical prawn mee noodle soup in singapore. The highlight was the robust flavourful soup! Two huge prawns are given! But you will need to use your hands to peel them (haha i would have preferred peeled prawns). What is even better about this bowl of prawn noodles is that there is sliced pork and half a boiled egg as well! Remember to ask for no beansprouts if you dont eat them like me too!
To make the deal even sweeter, get the $8+ 1 for 1 lazada vouchers for this! You get two bowls for the price of $8+! Super good deal!

-Grilled Pork Meat and Egg Toast ($5.80): The slightly sweet white bread was nicely toasted! Went well with the crunchy lettuce and cucumber, egg and savoury pork slice!
-Lady Boss Pork Brown Rice (Large size for $8.50): Get the large size bowl if you want this sunny side up oozy egg! Love the savoury braised pork sauce! This version is made of ground pork instead of pork belly, if you prefer less fatty pork meat!

-Iced Winter Melon Tea ($2.50): Refreshing and thirst quenching.
Hokkien Prawn Mee Noodles at Prawnography at Novena Gardens!
What a punny name!
The wok hey was strong! Fragrant prawn mee taste filled the room as soon as we walked in! Each plate costs $8 and it comes with 3 huge fresh peeled prawns, some squid rings and pork belly bits. They were able to entertain my request of no tauguey! 👍🏻
I only wished they gave lean meat instead of fatty pork belly meat! Love the spicy hot red chilli too!
Noodle portion was substantial (and so much more filling than the geylang one), and the saucy soup broth was so good!
They accept cdc vouchers here too!

New Ice Cream Shop - Ri Ri Cha 日日茶 at Chinatown!
They specialise in tea-flavoured ice cream, and very well known for their nian gao waffle!
Ordered the Nian Gao Waffle + 2 scoops of ice cream ($15.80)!
Picked Osmanthus Oolong and the Matcha Butterfly Pea Soy!
The osmanthus oolong was light tasting!
The Matcha Butterfly Pea Soy was a very interesting flavour! Comes in a contrasting blue green colour which resembles earth to me! The matcha taste and soy flavour was well balanced, I quite enjoyed it! I also prefer this flavour to the other one we got!
As for the Nian Gao Waffle, I love how the nian gao was spread throughout the waffle! The waffle was crispy on the outside and chewy mochi-like on the inside! Love the slight brown sugar taste to the nian gao too!
They are located at 24 Sago Street.
