Cafe Hopping Visit to Hello Arigato!
This cafe has been on my bucket list for the longest time! Made many plans to visit this cafe, but always cancelling it off at the last minute (as too scared by the prices LOL)
Made a last minute booking last weekend and here we are! As I only made the booking the night before, only the early morning timeslot 930am was left (and even earlier timing)!
We ordered the following items:
-HCG Sando ($16+): HCG stands for Har Cheong Gai! A thick slab of har cheong gai chicken patty! Juicy chicken leg, and very well marinated, but on the saltier side! Lots of water needed. I find it quite hard to justify the pricing though!
-Tamago Sando ($14+): This is a MUST order! Super unique and special sando! It has 3 different kinds of egg in one - there is Tamago, Egg Mayo, and ramen egg! Be sure to share this as it is a very big portion!
-Add on Tater Tots ($5+): Instead of ordering one full side dish of tater tots, we added on a side serving and it was just nice for sharing for two! Who else loves ordering Tater Tots in Cafe too! Haha why dont supermarket sell frozen tater tots!
We didnt order any drinks here as we were intending to head to Kohi Coffee Bar nearby after this cafe visit!
I will say worthwhile to try Hello Arigato ONCE in your lifetime!
Southwestern Mexican Cuisine at @cali.singapore !
Featured here are the following food items:
-Wild Mushroom Soup: Fresh mushrooms! There are mushroom slices in it too! Love the crispy toasted garlic bread
-Cali Wings: These mid joint chicken wings in a thick coating of BBQ sauce!
-Chicken Fajita: I enjoyed this item so much!! There are served in a sizzling hot plate! The chicken is very juicy and marination was so tasty! Wrap them up with the tortilla wrap with a mixture of monterey jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa as well as mixed greens!
-Crayfish Pasta: Substantial portion of crayfish meat! Pasta was also cooked ald dente, tossed in juicy tomato sauce
-Mexican Brownie: This comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
-Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice: Super fresh!
-Ginger Ale

New western european restaurant @blackcherrysg at pasir panjang!
🍝Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio ($22++): This came with 4 large tiger prawn! The aglio olio sauce was however more oily than what i expected. I would also prefer if the spaghetti was cooked abit longer as it was still kinda chewy hard
🍝Al Granchio (chilli crab pasta) ($23++): Luckily we didnt wait for both pastas to be served before we started eating, because this second pasta dish we ordered only came when we were almost finishing the earlier plate 😂 with that said, the spaghetti here was softer and more to our liking! Sauce was great but we had to ration out the chilli crab meat while eating haha
Used the burpple 1 for 1 deal here! The 1 for 1 is only within the same category though (pasta; risotto; pizza), so pasta was the only choice we had after elimination since 2 risottos or 2 pizzas would be too much for 2 pax. Otherwise, the restaurant itself also has their own Feb 2023 1 for 1 promo, though the menu offering for the promo is a smaller subset!

Second revisit to Dough Cafe!
This time round, I wanted to try out their mains (served from 1030am onwards)! Reached on a sunday afternoon at 12+pm and it was quite crowded, but the wait was still less than 10mins (the queue got even longer after we were seated; but fret not they have a 1 hour dining time in the aircon area, and we did see the staff "chasing" customers who have sat around in the indoor area for >1 hour to head to the outdoor seating area instead)
Ordered the Dough Platter ($28++), which was big portion enough for 2 not super hungry adults. This platter is the most popular item here, and it has 200g smoked chili maple glazed pancetta steak, 3 hashbrown cakes, scrambled eggs, pickled shrooms, balsamic brussels sprouts, and house spiced butter baby corn and carrot. I must say this dish was very well done! All the food were very well spiced and marinated! It is different from the typical big breakfast you get in other cafe which all taste rather plain tasting. Special shoutout to the Balsamic Brussels Sprouts! For a non-veg eater me, this was SUPER good, and I actually quite a few of it! The sauce for the glazed pancetta was also very nicely done! The scrambled eggs was however the most runny and liquidy scrambled egg I have ever eaten. I liked the salty furikake kind of toppings for the egg though! Gave it a different dimension taste!
Pistachio Raspberry Cube Croissant ($6.50++): Snagged the last of this item from the tray! Crispy flaky outer croissant layer! However, the fillings tasted more like bitter matcha than what I expected it to be. More pistachio than raspberry.
My last visit to this cafe was in Jul 2021, when they still didnt charge GST and service charge..Now there is!
We did not order drinks here though, as we were intending to head to Hvala for drinks and desserts! We weren't the only ones with the same idea in mind too, as we saw three other group of customers from Dough which also headed to Hvala after HAHA!
Kerbside coffee bar at @kohi_sg !
This place has been on my to visit list for the longest time! finally visited it after a trip to Hello Arigato cafe which is just a few minutes walk away!
Very interesting stall concept where the kiosk opening hole is at the side of a small road.
we ordered the iced matcha latte and iced hojicha latte ($6.50 + $1 for iced)! Utilised the 1 for 1 offer on my burpple beyond membership account!
The iced hojicha and matcha latte were kinda diluted though. And not as strong or intense as i was expecting. Not sure if the hot latte versions will be better.
Check out this cool coffee bar to try them out!
Nan Yang Dao has opened a second outlet at 119 Aljunied Ave 2! Get your malaysian food cravings satisfied here!
Happened to chance upon the Lazada F&B flash sale voucher and bought it! $8 for 2 plates of noodles (choose from penang fried char kway teow, penang prawn noodle or KL hokkien mee).
For this visit, we tried the following food items!
-Penang Fried Char Kway Teow ($6.80): It was interesting to note that they have two different versions of char kway teow. The other one is the JB Fried Char Kway Teow ($7.80) that has the black sauce! This penang fried char kway teow is the white version kind. I thought the wok hey could be stronger. There are 2 prawns, some lapcheong and some fishcakes for this dish
-KL Hokkien Mee ($7.80): I quite enjoy this dish over the other item! Although the black sauce was slightly overwhelming and abit oily. But I love the chewy thick hokkien mee noodles! There are 2 prawns and some sliced pork for this! Goes well with the sambal chilli sauce too!
-Chendol ($3.50): We couldnt resist dessert and ordered this to try! Very strong coconut milk and gula melaka flavours. More red beans than green jellies given (haha i aint a fan of red beans)
Will be back again to try the penang prawn noodles! Have just bought another lazada voucher for it again!

Add on the vegetables, mushrooms and tofu to make it a very comforting filling meal!

Got the moonlight horfan ($6.30) and dai loke mee ($5.80). There are 2 prawns and a few slices of pork meat in each dish. Goes well with the spicy sambal chilli sauce! But Somehow it wasnt as nice as how we remembered it to be..
If you are a tonkatsu lover, check out this place @onkei.tonkatsu!
Featured here are the following items:
-Mentaiko Rosu-katsu Pork Loin Set ($19.90++)
-Miso Rosu-Katsu Pork Loin Set ($19.90++)
-Mentai Tamago ($5.90++)
-Fried Gyoza ($6.90++ for 5 pieces)
-Canned Drinks Qoo White Grape ($2.50++)
The tonkatsu set comes with rice (white or multi grain rice) and soup! The soup is also very special! It is tonkatsu broth simmered with japanese pork, konnyaku, aburage, white and red carrot for over 12 hours! There is mushroom, and very soft white and red carrots in it for serving too! Super comforting hearty bowl of hot soup! The rice and soup is free flow refillable too! The tonkatsu was fried with freshly made japanese breadcrumbs for extra crunchiness, and very meaty juicy on the inside! It was not overly oily as well, as the tonkatsu is fried in clean vegetable oil. The tonkatsu set comes with refreshing japanese pickles, and a huge portion of crunchy shredded cabbages. If you will like to try something uniqe, check out their mentaiko and miso pork loin set! I highly recommend both the mentai tamago and fried gyozas for sides!
When we visited the Havelock Outlet half a year ago, they ran out of the Yam & Purple Potato tart which I really wanted to try! For the second visit, we went to the newer Jurong Point Outlet!
Tried the following two flavour:
-Yam and purple potato: For taro lovers, you have to try this! Came in a pretty light purple hue! With ginkgo nut toppings too (though I dont really eat them hehe)
-Lychee Champagne (non-alcoholic): This came with popping lychee pops!
The egg tart crust is verrry crispy and flaky!
They have many other pretty interesting flavours which I will love to try too!
They used to be on burpplebeyond 1 for 1, but no longer now! But they have an ongoing buy 5 get 1 free promo (does not apply to original tart). Now is your time to try it if you have been eyeing it!
