My number 1 favorite banmian in Singapore is from Malaysia Boleh / Malaysia Chiak!

Super qq chewy noodles with comforting soup for the banmian soup version! I also super love how the eggs are oozy here!! Only wish if there could be more meat portions given.

For the dry chilli ban mian, it was too salty this time round.. think it was also because it was not the designated noodle person cooking it for us as we were here too early 😂

Unique Space Theme Chinese Restaurant in Singapore - @chefchina.sg !

Be prepared to be blown off by the food here! Situated in bugis (along the popular liang seah street), this restaurant has a very insta-worthy space theme and serves tasty delicious Sichuan Chinese Cuisine!

Featured here are the following items:

-Fresh Golden Seabass Platter with 2 different soup base: This hotpot was served in a cute heart shape pot! For the same price, you can choose 2 soup bases! One of the soup base will be in the inner small heart! I recommend to get the 招牌藤椒锅Green Pepper Soup for the small soup base, and the 招牌鸡豆花锅 Chickpea flower Soup for the large ones! The non-spicy soup was super comforting, and the green pepper one wa super shiok to eat! The seabass comes without bones, and it was super fresh and tender!

-Gongbao Prawn Balls: Very insta-worth dish! This comes served with dry ice mist! Very apt for the space-theme! The prawns were very fresh and qq and the gonga bao sauce was sweet and spicy! Comes with cashew nuts too!

-Sweet and Sour Pork: This sweet and sour pork is very different from the typical tzechar version. This version uses lean pork and comes thin sliced! I enjoy this version so much! Lots of sweet and sour sauce to coat the fried pork slices too!

-Grilled Skewers: Got the juicy chicken and grilled mushrooms! JThe skewers are seasoned with their signature spices, and it is kept hot on the candle grill!

Greatly enjoyed my dining experience here!

Arrived on a weekday early morning at 930am and was slightly disappointed by the limited variety of pastry items to choose from.

-Miso Kouign Amann ($5): This was my favourite item! Who knew Japanese miso + kouign amann will taste so good! I absolutely love the salty and sweet taste!
-Otah Otah Danish ($4.80): Very appetising. But the egg was more than the otak. I will prefer if it has more otah!
-Almond Croissant ($5): This was the item that I least enjoyed, but got it for the sick of getting since I had to use a $20 chope voucher
-Iced Matcha Latte ($7.40): Get $1 off when you order any food item! This promo can be used with the chope voucher too! But I must say this matcha latte was kinda diluted.

This was what I ordered - pollo funghi ($21.9+) with choice of pasta. There was chicken strips sauteed with mushrooms and onions in cream sauce for this dish! I personally thought the chicken strips itself was quite bland and dry. Will prefer it it was juicy chicken meat instead! But what is interesting is that you can choose your pasta here! Besides the typical rigatoni, penne, fusilli, capellini, spaghetti and fettucine options, there is also stuffed pasta to choose from! There is beef ravioli, spinach ricotta ravioli and tortellini mushrooms to pick from! I opted for the tortellini mushrooms! Was quite surprised by the tiny shaped tortellinis, as I t thought it would be ravioli shaped sizes. The mushrooms in the tortellini were super tiny bits, so actually the mushroom taste was not very strong.

It was not crowded when we reached for dinner time. However, the toasts were not available after 5pm (must come another time to try)!

So we ordered the following items to try instead:

-Minced Pork Rice ($6.80+): I actually pretty like this! Because it was the minced pork kind, and not the thick cut belly pork! So depending on your preference, you may or may not like it! For me, it is a yes, I will visit again to eat this!

-Guo Shao Egg Noodles ($7.80+): So happy we decided to order this instead of the minced pork noodles! This was pretty much like ee mian noodle soup, but the noodles kinda have a different texture, more chewy! The soup was a very comforting soup base! Comes with pork balls, crabstick and egg.

-Pork Floss and Cheese Omelette ($8.30+): This was surprisingly the most expensive item out of all the dishes we ordered. This taiwanese omelette was different from what I expected. It was not the crispy scallion pancake kind, but more of a chewy eggy thick kueh-like texture pancake. I think I am not a fan of this! But will return again to try the toast next time!

-Cold Soybean ($2.80+)

Have been wanting to visit Keng Wah Sung Cafe for quite a long time!

Finally made a trip down today on a quiet public holiday morning. The coffee shop was bustling at 9+am already, and seats almost full.

We got the economic beehoon, kaya butter and egg toast with drink from the drink stall. All in, it was $7 in total. Not sure of the breakdown in prices. The toasted bread was prepared pretty quickly, as I think it was pre-prepared. Hence, the toasted bread was more of room temperature when we ate it. Will prefer if it was hotter!

The economic beehoon while ok tasting, didnt wow me, and I thought my neighbourhood’s beehoon was still better. Not much choice of ingredients over here for the economic beehoon too.

There is also a mee siam and wanton mee stall over at this coffeeshop!

First post for the new Year 2023!

@pangzidurian for desserts!

Third time back here! This time for non-durian desserts. We got the waffle with chrysanthemum with cocoa nibs and pistachio! 😋

The waffle was crispy on outside and slight chewy on the inside!

All i can say is what was stated on their advertising materials as their christmas festive buffet menu had almost more than 40% of their items not found there. 🤯🤯🤯Even though advertising material states that menu items can be subject to change without prior notice.. but this should not happen when it was specifically sold as the christmas festive buffet menu specific for 2 days?! (Lol we saw at least 2 other diners giving feedback to staff and questioning where so and so food items indicated their online menu were as well)

Some of the food items we were looking forward to were nowhere to be seen (menu promoted on website, and still published on their website on 24 dec night) - no chilli crab, no ee fu noodles, no bakkutteh, no grilled chicken, no butter chicken, no duriann souffle, no lobster bisque soup, no sotong. And the list goes on and on and on 🤣

This buffet had more dessert sweets than savoury items too.. 🍰🍪🍫🍨

This is my THIRD time eating Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee in just 5 months! First two times were at old airport road outlet. This time round i went to their balestier outlet!

The prices seems to be the same as the old airport original outlet, even though the balestier outlet has more items like drinks and has air con too!

Got the $7 small bowl for double fish, which came with the cod fish nuggets and fried fish meat. Not a hugeee fan of the fried fish meat but i was afraid the $6 cod fish nugget lor mee wont keep me full 🤣. In the end, this $7 double fish portion kept me full even past dinner time! And for some reason, the cod fish nugget reminds me of macs fillet o fish taste 😂

Really love the added dimension taste that cilantro adds to the starchy soup! Yellow flat noodle for lor mee all the way!

Delicious nasi lemak from @mrandmrsnasilemak!

The deciding factor to determine whether a nasi lemak is good is the rice and chilli, and this nasi lemak from @mrandmrsnasilemak ticks all the boxes!

Love the fluffy fragrant coconut rice! What is even better is that they use basmati rice! I also like their sambal chilli which was on the sweeter side (though some of us may prefer a spicier chilli sauce). The ikan bilis and peanuts were crispy! What’s nasi lemak without chicken wing! I highly recommend getting the chicken wing set! The chicken wing was crispy, juicy and flavourful!

Featured here are the following food items:
-Chicken Wing Set ($5)
-Otah Set ($5)
-Kunning Fish Set ($5)
For all the sets, they come with sunny side up egg, ikan bilis and achar.

Besides the usual nasi lemak ingredients, they also have the following items to add-on (like caifan style):
-Curry Cabbage ($1.30)
-Begedil ($1)
-Long Bean ($1.20)
-Lady Finger ($1.20)
-Eggplant ($1.30)
-Roasted pork ($1.80)

Affordable and tasty meal! Check them out at Block 71, Seng Poh Road (fun fact: They took over the storefront from Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice)!

Miso Ponzu sauce
Salted Egg sauce

These lobster dishes are super value for money! The lobster meat is also very meaty! Especially love the charred tomato sauce! Salted egg for the fried fish fillet was also a good choice!
