@cocoboss.sg has launched a new drink series! Presenting to you the new COCONUT ICE TEA series which was launched on 20 Aug! Super unique! This drink series is made by blending coconut with tea!
Featured here are the following flavours:
-Elderberry with brown sugar kanten jelly: If you are getting this brown sugar kanten jelly topping, I will recommend to get 0% sugar level for the drink, as the jelly was quite sweet itself!
-Lychee with Aloe Vera: I totally love this combination!
The drinks are super refreshing and thirst quenching! They are also good for those who are vegan or lactose intolerant!
Beside the above flavours they also have longan, peach, passionfruit or earl grey tea! For toppings there is also other choices such as aiyu jelly, coconut meat or coconut jelly!
The high tea set for 2 is priced at $56++ and it includes 2 non-alcoholic drinks as well. In each high tea set, there will be 2 pieces of the following 10 items:
-Mushroom Croquette
-Rockmelon with Parma Ham
-Crab Cake with Garlic Aioli
-Smoked Salmon Pinwheel with Cream Cheese
-Mini Cranberry Scones
-Pandan Panna Cotta with Rose Sago
-Mini Cheesecake
-Matcha Swiss Roll
-Passionfruit Popsicle
-Berries and Cream Puff
For the drinks, we opted for the Iced Lychee Tea and Iced White Grape Tea.
All in all, i preferred the savouries to the sweets for this high tea set! I also like that the scone was a mini one (usually scone is my most hated item in all high tea sets lol). The sweets items were too sweet to my liking though.
As we had 3 ppl, in addition to the high tea set, we ordered two ala carte food items as well:
-Spruce Prawn Pasta ($22++): This was SUPER DUPER yummy! Orecchiette pasta (it translates to little ears because it resembles that shape) tossed in zucchini, spinach and garlic cream sauce! The sea prawns were super fresh and crunchy!
-Egg Florentine ($22++): Homemade puffy pizzas with Parma Ham, Spinach, Garlic, Quail Eggs, Tomatoes and Chilli Flakes. We got this pizza because another one that we wanted was not available. I am not a fan of parma ham, so I didnt quite enjoy this.
We visited the outlet at Phoenix Park! Love the greenery nature ambience here. If you want to get indoor aircon seats at the Phoenix Park Outlet, I recommend you to make a reservation! Also, do note that the high tea is only available on weekdays 230-530pm.
Had a lovely brunch at @dough.coffee !
Visited this place on a sunday afternoon and didnt expect it to be still so crowded! (Do note they do not accept reservations, so only walk in) But the queue was still manageable, we managed to get air con seats in just about 15mins wait time.
Tried out the following bakes:
Blackcurrant Peanut Chocolate mochi roll ($6): This caught my attention because it was super unique! But sorry it doesnt look pretty here as I dropped it on the tray while trying to take it out opps. This was like a cinnamon bun, but with chocolate fillings, and topped with blackcurrant jam! There is also mochi in the middle of the roll! But somehow , the flavours did not really come together.
Guava strawberry keffir lime danish ($6): I quite like this! The citrusy combination was good! And guava danish is so rare! Recommend to try this!
Hazelnut banana danish ($5): There was natural sweetness from the bananas and crunchy texture from the crushed hazelnut!
Besides pastries, they also have cooked food and a wide range of drinks! There is no GST or service charge here. Will be back to visit this place again!
Visited the outlet at East Coast! They had a super long queue on an early saturday afternoon. Waiting time was around 20-30mins.
Here are the items we ordered:
Bacon & Hash ($21++): This consisted of a housemade rosti, poached eggs, thick-cut bacon, wilted spinach and mushroom cream. First impression: my jaw dropped. The rosti was super burnt and chaotah?! The bacon also looked over chaotah. How disappointing it was! The rosti also was very plain tasting. We ate half of it before we decided to request for salt and black pepper, and I had to add LOTS of it to the rosti. (Sorry, I think marcheโs rosti is way better!) The combination of rosti and bacon was good though. It was the saltiness of bacon which was helping to balance out the very plain tasting rosi. I liked the mushroom cream, but felt it was not enough for the whole portion of rosti. Poached eggs were nicely done.
Summer Fruits Waffles ($18++): We ordered this together with all the items we got and this was the first dish that was served haha. So it was kinda weird to eat sweet ice cream the first thing in the morning (we were there for brunch). The housemade sourdough waffle also was too crispy for me! Prefer for it to be fluffier in the interior. This waffle came with berries, cherries, housemade granola, strawberry ice cream and whipped cream.
Hot Chocolate ($6.5++): Got this because we saw everyone ordering drinks and i FOMO, but I cant take caffeine drinks either lol.
Overall, I am not super wow-ed over by the food. But nice cafe ambience, there are outdoor and indoor aircon seats.
Finally visited LUNA!!
This place has been on my bucket list for 2 years!
First thing first, I thought that it was quite weird that the prices for the cakes/tarts were not displayed on shelves (In the end, we realised the QR code for menu was at the tables). So we were blindly choosing the cakes based on whether we think it will be nice without looking at the prices (where usually when I order food I will factor in the price of the item to decide which to get)! But anw, we were very sure we were gona try the orh nee cake, so there was only one more cake for us to choose (which turned out to be more expensive than the cake, when I thought it would be the other way round haha)
These are the items we got:
Orh Nee Cake ($8): This is totally a MUST GET item if you are visiting this cafe! I was also not disappointed with this cake! Light fluffy vanilla sponge cake is layered with velvety yammy paste, and topped with Chantilly Cream and desiccated coconuts. I also like the addition of crunchy white chocolate pearls! So many different textures in one!
Mango Passion Fruit ($9.50): This was a super interesting tart with many different layer! There is mango sponge cake that is assembled together with mango cremeux, passionfruit curd, pistachio ganache, crunchy white chocolate feuilletine , and glazed with coconut mousse and passionfruit glaze. An explosion of flavours in the mouth! Enjoyed this alot too!
Enjoyed my visit here, and may be back again to try their other tarts/cakes!!
Visited Gokoku again, but this time at Jurong Point outlet! Making it a point to try out a different bread each time on my visit!
This time round, I tried the Matcha Langue De Chat ($2), which is like a coffee bun, but without the butter in the middle! The exterior was covered in sweet crispy matcha cookie crust wih white chocolate chips, and with a fluffy airy bread in the middle!
Best to eat it warmed!
Tip: They offer 10 cents discount if you do not take their plastic bag! (haha I did not know about this and my reflex action was too slow to read the sign when I already said yes to plastic bag oppsie! To note for my future trips!)
Finally checked out this crepe place @frenchfold!
Here is what we ordered:
No.04 Ham, egg sunny side up, sautรฉed mushrooms, Comtรฉ cheese ($19++)
No.12 Duck confit, baby potatoes, cream, thyme ($21++)
The crepes are made of buckwheat flour and they only use organic eggs! Loved both of the above crepes! Canโt decide which of the two I prefer! I love the addition of baby potatoes into the crepe! It sounded like a weird combination, but I ended up loving it very much! We were too full from these 2 savoury crepes to try their sweet crepes!
They were super packed on a friday night at the Orchard outlet. Do remember to make a reservation beforehand! Their reservation timings for dinner ar 630pm or 8pm though.
Also special shoutout to their VERY FRIENDLY service staff!
@tiongbahrubakery needs no introduction!!
