Take a trip down memory lane at Old Habits!

Experience dining here with a very unique vintage ambience! Old school decor everywhere at all corners of the cafe! Brings back so many childhood memories!

Besides the nice cafe ambience, the staff were friendly, and best of all the food was GOOD! 👍🏻

Featured here are the following items:
🍄Truffle mushroom soup ($6.50): Very strong truffle oil taste! With some sliced mushrooms and mushroom bits! Super good!

🐥Sea Salt Caramel Roasted Chicken (half) ($17.50): Very tender juicy chicken, with a very interesting homemade sauce glaze! You get to choose two sides - We got mashed potatoes which was savoury and creamy, and fries which was well seasoned with chilli powder and crispy crunchy!

🐟Simply Salmon ($16.90): It was quite interesting that for this salmon, you get to choose whether you want your salmon medium well done or well done all cooked! Cater to all you picky eaters (like me :P)! Since there was a choice, i got for the all cooked choice! The pan seared salmon skin was SOO crispy! The best salmon skin ever! The spaghetti’s sauce was a homemade belachan chilli, and it was SOO tasty! Best “spicy aglio olio” ever! (Btw, the chilli level can be customised too, and we picked normal spicy!)

🌴Old habit coconut kueh ($9.90): To end off the meal, I recommend to get this! Super interesting coconut bread butter pudding that is served warm, and is souffle like and also like a soft tapioca kueh, with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream!

Discovered a new food place in Tai Seng!

@charstewkitchensg serves up CHARCOAL BBQ and hot pot stew!

For their hotpot, there is a choice of 4 different type of soups. We tried the peppery chicken and pig stomach soup ($29 for 2-3 pax)! This is the best seller and most recommended item! The soup was soo tasty! Peppery with lots of kicks! Lots of peppercorn spotted in the soup too! What’s better is that the soups are refillable! And the refilled soup does not taste diluted at all! The chicken comes with chicken meat chunks, lots of pig stomach, cabbage, and emoji mushrooms! You can also pick more items to add to your hotpot! They are all at $1 per plate. We got some quail eggs, and more taukey skin and enoki mushrooms to add to the soup!

Their bbq sticks are all at $1(min 15 sticks)! There was a wide selection of skewers available, from taiwan sausage, chicken meat, pork meat, chicken mid wings, king oyster mushroom, sliced potato, shitake mushrooms, lady fingers, corn etc . For these bbq skewers, it is recommended to grill them first before brushing on the teriyaki sauce and the chilli powder (otional). Food cooked by charcoal is so much tastier!

Very shiok meal! And the price is also affordable!

Check them out at 8 Burn Road, Singapore 369977.
Operating hours: Mon-Sun 5-1030pm

New Mookata Spot - @wanwanmookata at Macpherson Area!

I am glad to find another delicious eatery spot in the Macpherson area!

Featured here is the fun size package ($32.80) which is good for 1-2 pax! You get black pepper pork collar, garlic overdosed chicken thigh, tiger prawns, abalone, sausages, crabstick, meatballs, cheese tofu, quail eggs, enoki mushrooms, vegetables, tanghoon, tomyum mama noodles and an egg!

What is also special about this mookata place is that they also serve premium ingredients like the following items! These items can be ordered as ala carte items (min $25 order) or add-on to your bundle meal:
Hokkaido scallops
Jumbo Oysters
Thai sausages
Shishamo

I also super love the thai dipping sauces they gave! Both the red and chilli! Went very well with the grilled meats and seafood!

Our favourite way of eating the mookata is to grill the ingredients; boil the ingredients in the chicken soup; taste enough of the chicken soup; before turning the soup into tom yum noodle soup; and ending off with a wobbly egg!

Check them out at 171 Macpherson Road, Singapore 348536. Their operating hours are 5-11pm daily, as well as 11am-2pm on weekdays.

@nictomeatery has reopened a new outlet at 6 Sago Street! The owners are the second generation of the very popular BAI NIAN NIANG DOU FU, which also happens to be my number 1 favourite yong tau foo in Singapore! I always order their beehoon soup whenever I am at Albert Hawker Centre or at Viva Business Park!

For their @nictomeatery, they specialise in cheese beehoon, and serve a variety of chinese and western dishes!

Featured here are the following food items:

Big Scallop Cheese ($15.90++): Was very intrigued as to how the cheese soup will taste like. It turned out to be not bad! The cheese taste was not too over-powering (which is a good thing)! Love the big scallops and fresh juicy prawns! It is a MUST to try out one of their cheese beehoon soup if you are here!

Ee Fu Noodle ($9.90++): Usually we only have ee fu noodles at wedding banquets. Was quite excited to try this! Braised ee fu springy noodles with alot of minced garlic, mushrooms, prawns and scallop. I love this dish! If you are ee fu lovers like us, do try this out!

Sesame Bun ($11.70++): This can be ordered in pieces, but minimum 3 pieces per order! This is another MUST get! Almost every table was ordering this too! Loved the deep fried buns that are topped with black and white sesame seeds. The shredded pork belly was stir fried and with caramelised onions. So good! They also provide you disposable gloves to assemble the bun and eat with your hands! Otherwise, there is also a washing point in the restaurant!

Eight Treasures ($6.90++): This was a very interesting side dish. Deep fried tofu with minced prawns! Goes well with the mayo dip!

For drinks, we got the Iced yuzu drink ($3++) and Hot Fruit Tea ($7.90++)! Very refreshing and thirst quenching drinks!

I have heard about @thaibaang bakery since a few years ago, and have walked past it countless times. But either i already had bread for the next day, or i didnt feel like eating bread for the next day, or i was slightly turned off by the high prices of the bread.

Was walking past the bakery a few days ago again and decided now was the time to try it! I have always been very intrigued by the way they display the bread. The bread are still in their bread tin for display before sale! I love how the bread was still warm! Very soft and pillowy fluffy bread!

Tried the yam bread, curry bread and curry puff. I must say the bread were really good and fluffy! It is around $2.20 per bread (which is single individual portion).

May buy again if im in the area since there are many other flavours to try! They have pretty interesting flavours like thai tea and sweet potato too!
