Crown Prince Spicy Mee Hoon 太子米粉 from @penangseafoodrestaurant !
One of my top favourite tzechar places in aljunied!
Second time ordering this! I love the beehoon! Super thin strands (it is like the putien dry beehoon)! This is similar to chaotah beehoon too (like the one from JB Ah Meng). The difference is this has 5 big prawns given (while the JB Ah Meng's version has cuttlefish and pork slices in them)!
Be sure to get the sambal chilli sauce! Goes well with the beehoon!
ordered this through grabfood, so no waiting involved! $10.70 on grabfood! Do note this is more expensive than walk in takeaway price! (if you have grabfood vouchers then it is a good deal!)
Western fusion food from @rebelicious.sg
Rebelicious is located at AlibabaR the Hawker Bar, a very hipster place with “hawker” and trendy food and with a bar!
Featured here are the following items:
Rebelicious Spicy Chicken Burger ($15): This comes with a fluffy brioche bun, with lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, egg, devil sauce + mayo sauce, and a very HUGE portion of fried chicken! I love how the chicken portion was super generous, and it was marinated well. Be warned that the devil sauce chilli mixture is quite spicy! So if you are not a chilli taker, do opt for the other burgers instead (there is classic wagyu cheeseburger, battered swordfish steak burger and breaded golden pumpkin bugers too!) The burger set all comes with salted fries. You can also add on $3 to replace this salted fries for some of the other sides!
Pasta: The pastas are customisable! First you choose your linguine base (there is creamy furikake / creamy tom yum / tomato / aglio olio), then your toppings (under the sea, mean & wild, lil cutie, the green machine). The one that I opted for was the creamy tom yum linguine under the sea ($14.90)! It came with a perfectly grilled salmon with crispy skin, grilled garlic prawns, and two squid rings. For the creamy tom yum base, it may get slightly jelat, so best to share with your dining buddy! Sharing is caring, and you get to eat more variety too! :)
Crispy Calamari with wasabi mayo ($8): The calamaris were crispy hot when served. The wasabi mayo sauce had just the right mixture of wasabi in it, so it was not overly choking.
Head down to Alibabar The Hakwer Bar if you will like to check out @rebelicious.sg ! The atmosphere at the Hawker Bar was also very happening on a weekend evening! Especially now since groups of up to 10 are allowed! Head here for your group outings and get to enjoy good food at affordable pricing!
Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and desserts are also served at another stall at this hawker bar! We got an Kiwi Lime Frosty and Apple of my eye (Green Apple + Lime) fresh fruit mocktail!
Simple heartwarming meal for the cold rainy afternoon!
Toasted some bread with butter and garlic powder from @hexafood to make garlic butter bread dips!

Elegant bake box from @theheadlessbaker!
Featured here is the elegant box ($16) which contains the following items:
💛Lemon Pistachio Tea Cake: The prettiest of the lot as it was topped with rose petals and crushed pistachios. Classic lemon butter cake as the base. This cant get any better!
🧡Earl Grey Lavender Tea Cake: For earl grey lovers, this will be your favourite! There are bergamot and citrus bis in the cake too, so it was quite like a fruit cake to me. Very fragrant!
💚Pandan Gula Melaka Tea cake: As an avid pandan lover, this was the first cake I picked to attack! Fluffy pandan cake base that is topped with gula melaka icing!
💗Hojicha financier: Financiers are small french almond cake. This was made with roasted hojicha powder! At first I thought I will prefer the matcha over hojicha, but I ended up preferring the hojicha surprisingly! It had a natural sweet taste!
💖Matcha financier: Rich matcha powder is used to make this financier! Flavour was very robust!
The cakes can be kept at room temp (in an air tight container) for up to 2 days!
If you will like to try the above items, head to @pickupp.sg to order now! Use promocode to get $5 off all your orders on @pickupp.sg ! The promo code can be used unlimited times for new and existing users :)
Have been eyeing Sinpopo cakes for the longest time! Finally tried it last week because of the ongoing march 35% discount for pandan kaya cakes! So this slice waa going for $5 instead of $7.90!
The pandan kaya cake slice was quite a big portion! It is a light fluffy pandan chiffon cake kind of base, and not the denser kind of cake. I also like how the cream layers were light! Delicious! Paired it with an iced milo kopi! (They only have mostly caffeine drinks though! So not much choices for non-caffeine drinkers)
The 35% discount for pandan kaya cakes ends on 31 march 2022! So head down now! More details on @sinpopobrand IG page!
Thai food from @ramaixkitchen !
@ramaixkitchen is an authentic thai eatery that has recently moved from Orchard Plaza to 498 MacPherson Rd about a month ago! Yay to another new thai eatery in the MacPherson Neighbourhood!
Featured here are the following food items:
Pandan chicken ($8 for 4 pieces): Very fragrant pandan chicken! Huge chunks of chicken meat given for each piece!
Thai Crispy Prawn Cake ($8 for 2 pieces): This prawn cake was really crispy! Very meaty prawn cake too! I also like how they offer a smaller sized portion of 2 pieces, good for 2 pax or solo-dining!
Garlic Sauteed Prawns ($15): Woah, this was super fragrant! It is also rare to find such garlic prawns being sold in other eateries! Loved the crispy garlic bites. I also like how the prawn has been half side peeled to make for easier eating! Besides garlic, other methods of preparation which you can choose from include sambal or black pepper!
Clear Tom Yum Soup ($11 + $1 for seafood option): Lots of seafood portions given! Fresh fish slices, squid, prawns and mushrooms! But be warned, this clear tom yum soup is SUPER DUPER spicy! Sour and spicy! And I got choked by the spiciness a few times! But it is at the same time very addictive still and I cant help reaching out for more mouthfuls. It is like playing with fire :P
Crab Omelette fried Rice ($9.90): Love the seafood fragrance for this place of crab omelette fried rice! Huge chunks of crabmeat given and I loved the slightly oozy omelette egg!
For drinks, we got the thai iced lemon grass ($3.50) and thai iced green tea ($3.50). Both a very refreshing drink choice especially to accompany the spicy tom yum soup!
Teleport yourself to Thailand by checking out this thai eatery now!
Chinese desserts from @yatkayan!
Have been seeing alot of posts for Yat Ka Ya Desserts appearing all over my IG newsfeed. Had bookmarked it, but didnt take a closer look as to the exact location of the place. Was at Fortune Centre for a meal and was wandering around Level 2 locating the toilet when we spotted a loooonggg queue from afar, and look and behold, it was the Yat Ka Yan that I have been eyeing! And so I jumped right into the queue with no hesitation lol! Even though the queue was long, the wait was actually pretty fast. They will allocate seats for you after you order too, so no need to fret over finding seats!
We tried out the Yammy Chendol ($5.50), which was essentially chendol + orh nee, since it looked pretty unique! Plus we were craving for both chendol and orh nee, so why not have both in the same bowl!
Love the combination, it wasnt weird actually! But I was wondering throughout eating why the ice shavings melted soooooo fast! Way too fast! Or maybe the place was just too humid and hot. The gula melaka syrup was also slightly too sweet for me. But I totally love the green jellies, and their version was saltier, pretty unique! (hehe no comments for the red beans because I left that for my dining partner to eat heh). This is good for sharing between 2 pax, if you dont have an especially sweet tooth!
Will be back again to try the hot desserts such as the walnut paste and pure yam paste! Another dessert place to check out in the Bugis area!
Japanese Asian Fusion Donburis from @fukudonsg ! They have many pretty interesting donburis choices that have an interesting asian twist to it!
Wagyu Onigiri don ($15.90): This consists of a soy marinated wagyu flank steak (150g portion given), with pickled cucumber and ajitsuke tamago. The wagyu was very tender and also very flavourful!
Satay Pork Collar Onigiri Don ($7.90): V local unique! Satay marinated pork collar with homemade achar, onsen egg and crispy golden egg floss! I LOVE it!
Spicy Pork Collar Don ($6.90): This donburi comes with spicy marinated pork collar, onsen egg and furikake! Be warned, it is QUITE spicy!
Asian Garlic Puree Salmon Onigiri Don ($7.90): salmon fillet, unique tomato salad (which includes fresh orange pulps!), ajitsuke tamago, and the special garlic homemade puree! I love this homemade garlic concoction! Whole garlic pieces are also visible! I highly recommend this!
Shoyu Glazed Salmon Don ($7.50): If you are not a garlic fan, opt for this! The salmon fillet came with a shoyu lemon glaze, tomato salad and an onsen egg!
Green Field Salad ($3.90): To accompany your meal, do check out this very interesting salad too! It comes with romaine lettuce, green apple, japanese cucumber umami dressing, and candied pumpkin seeds! A very appetising side dish to start off the meal!
Homemade Potato Salad ($2.50): This potato salad was so smooth and creamy! The mashed potato comes with japanese cucumber, carrot and white onions too, and topped with furikake! Cant help reaching out for more!
Crunchy Fries ($4): Shout-out for the fries, they were really crunchy, crispy and addictive!! A side of homemade curry sauce is given, and I thought it tasted pretty similar to macdonald’s curry sauce!
The bowls are pretty affordable, with most items below $8, and the portions are very generous!
Do check them out! They have two outlets:660A Edgedale Plains; and 84 Marine Parade Central!

Featured are the following items:
🌟Black pig pork katsu curry ($12.80): I love japanese curry sauce! A very generous portion serving of thick sweet curry is given! More than enough to accompany each and every scoop of rice! The pork katsu was also a very thick cut, and deep fried to perfection covered with panko bread crumbs! I also like how the meat was towards the leaner cut side, not fatty!

Polo Buns from @championflagship !
Visited this “new cafe” (inverted commas because i visited them 10 months ago, but only finally got down to posting my review now hehe) that sells authentic hong kong bolo buns! It is quite rare to see such a specialty polo bun stall!
There was a snaking long queue when we visited then on a weekend later afternoon! You will need to place your order at the counter before you proceed to find your seats upstairs yourself! There is also waiting time for the food to be served as the polo buns are baked in small batches to ensure quality. They are handmade and freshly baked every 15 mins!
This was what I tried:
⭐️Classic Bolo Bun (right) - not sure if it was just our luck, but the classic bolo bun had too much of a charred top! But nevertheless, i like the sweet crunchy layer with a fluffy pillowy bun. If you want an extra slice of butter in the bun, it is additional 50 cents.
⭐️Curry Potato Bolo Bun (left): Got this to try because it was HIGHLY RAVED. And I can see why. This was a local fusion bolo bun with local curry! Totally love this. If you love curry and spice, try this. There are minced chicken with potato cubes in the fillings. Highly recommend it! 👍🏻
🥤Champion’s Lemon tea (iced): Got an iced tea to pair the buns, since no trip to a charchanteng is complete without a drink. But since I dont take coffee or milk tea, this was the only choice i had.
If you are lazy to get out of your house to queue, good news, because they are on @pickupp.sg for group buy orders this month! Check out the @pickupp.sg app now to preorder! Use this code to get $5 off your order (min $14 purchase)!
My heart goes shalala lala at @wawasg ! Wawa Lala Beehoon specialises in clams!
Featured here are the following items:
🌟Signature Power Drunken Lala Beehoon soup ($7.90): This is one of the signature item! There is a choice of bee hoon or tanghoon, and I opted for the tanghoon! There is also a choice of spicy or non-spicy soup. Be warned, the spicy option can get quite spicy, not for kids! But if you do take spice, do try this, it was quite shiok to drink! There is even enoki mushrooms in the soup! Enjoyed the soup alot, and it does not leave you thirsty after!
🌟Power Sambal Lala with Tasty Rice ($9.90): A very interesting combination of sambal lala with tasty rice! The tasty rice was quite like lotus leaf rice! This came with diced mushrooms too! The sambal is also quite spicy, but also super shiok! The sambal sauce given was just nice!
🌟Fresh Lala Chawanmushi with salmon roe ($5.90): Besides the fresh lala cahwanmushi ($3.90), they also have this other option with salmon roe! Very smooth tasting chawanmushi, with fresh lala clams in the chawanmushi too! Salmon roe gives the burst of flavours!
🌟Fresh Lala in Signature Homemade Garlic Butter Sauce ($7.90): The lalas were drenched in the fragrant garlic butter sauce! I thought it was a drier sauce, but nope, is the very wet kind that you can lick up with a spoon!
🍹They have a wide range of hot and cold beverage, such as the lime juice ($2)!
Fresh lalas are used for all the dishes here! 👍🏻You can see the live clams in their seawater tank too! Was very impressed how there is NO TASTE of sand at all in all the clam dishes! (usually when I order clam dishes elsewhere, i always have a fear that there will be a taste of sand which will spoil the whole meal).
Check this place out if you want to try out these fresh lala dishes!
They are located at Fortune Centre 190 Middle Rd, 01-11/12, Singapore 188979
