Tried out the tzechar from 7 wonders Seafood (Jalan Besar outlet) as there was one for one on burpplebeyond! Paid $16 for 4 mains!

🍽mee goreng: this was the best item of all! Spicy till shiok! Noodles weren’t soggy mushy even though it was takeaway. Comes with fresh prawn, squid, sliced fish and clams!

🍽seafood fried rice: my family would have loveee to order a sambal fried rice! My dad and my first reaction when we looked at the menu was “got sambal fried rice ma?” But nevertheless the chilli given to accompany this dish was good enough!

🍽stewed Ee fu noodle: I have never ordered ee fu noodle at tze Char places before! This dish to me is only meant to be eaten at wedding receptions haha. We thought this dish was slightly tooo sweet though too much sweet soya sauce added! Comes with prawns and shimeiji mushrooms

🍽 Sheng Mian: this item is always a hit or miss and it is always hard to judge how it will be without any menu photos or actual photos for reference. In this case it was a total miss for me. The shengmian noodles were damn laohong and also not the crispy thin kind that I was looking for that becomes silky smooth when in the wet gravy

(based on my memories the best shengmian I have ever eaten, and very unexpectedly so, was at the makansutra bay at Esplanade where there was this roast duck stall selling duck meat shengmian for $14+. At that time I was commenting how absurd the price was, but the noodles blew my mind and I still remember fondly till today 6 years later. Not sure whether this stall is still at makansutra bay / moved away / closed down haha.)

Gave the McDonald Hainanese Chicken Burger a try and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted! The burger was humongous! The chicken portions was like bigger size than the bread itself! (For some weird reason I actually finished eating the top side of the burger bun before I could finish the chicken haha) The chicken was super juicy and not dry at all! It wasn’t as crispy as I hoped it will be though because of the many sauces on it! There was garlic chilli sauce and a subtle ginger sauce (don't worry ginger taste is not super duper strong)! Customers will also be given a packet of dark sweet sauce to drizzle it on the chicken themselves based on their preference! The burger also came with some lettuce and purple cabbage. Not sure if it was because I was famished at 9pm after a long 28km cycling ride, but a MacDonald meal has never ever tasted so good to me before! Plus so many distinct burst of flavours in the mouth at one go! Also tried the criss cut fries and loved it! I prefer any other fries over normal macs fries! ✌🏻if you are still considering whether to try this burger, I will say give it a try! Once is enough for me though 😉
