Gave the McDonald Hainanese Chicken Burger a try and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted! The burger was humongous! The chicken portions was like bigger size than the bread itself! (For some weird reason I actually finished eating the top side of the burger bun before I could finish the chicken haha) The chicken was super juicy and not dry at all! It wasn’t as crispy as I hoped it will be though because of the many sauces on it! There was garlic chilli sauce and a subtle ginger sauce (don't worry ginger taste is not super duper strong)! Customers will also be given a packet of dark sweet sauce to drizzle it on the chicken themselves based on their preference! The burger also came with some lettuce and purple cabbage. Not sure if it was because I was famished at 9pm after a long 28km cycling ride, but a MacDonald meal has never ever tasted so good to me before! Plus so many distinct burst of flavours in the mouth at one go! Also tried the criss cut fries and loved it! I prefer any other fries over normal macs fries! ✌🏻if you are still considering whether to try this burger, I will say give it a try! Once is enough for me though 😉
@lovenoodles.sg is a thai fusion restaurant situated in the Siglap area! What is special about this place is that they have SPICY NOODLES where you can customise the spicyness level from level 1 to level 5! You can choose the ingredient (seafood / chicken / pork) and the type of noodles (spaghetti / vermicilli / beehoon etc)
This was what I tried:
🌶Spicy thai seafood spaghetti level 1: This had level 1 spicy, which was very manageable as it had more of a soy-based sauce! Slurpy delicious sauce with fresh prawns and sotong rings! Lots of minced garlic in it as well for maximum fragrance!
🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶Spicy thai chicken spaghetti level 5: The level 5 spicyness level is VERY SPICY, no joke ok! Be warned! Even my family member who had higher spice tolerance level than me went running for water. Try this if you love a good challenge of your spicyness level!
🐖Minced Meat holy basil pork: Aromatic minced basil pork dish, with a portion of fluffy rice! I like that the rice wasnt hard (very important ok!). The sauce was not too overly salty or spicy and there was enough sauce to go around to mix with the plain rice. Comes topped with a sunny side up egg too!
🍗Fried lemongrass chicken wing: I rarely see fried lemongrass chicken wing being sold in most thai restaurants! So rare that my family member was puzzled what the “hair” was! Haha!! Looks aside, this lemongrass chicken wings was full of flavour, very juicy and marinated well. The chilli sauce given paired very well with it too! Recommend to get this as a side dish!

Tandoori chicken! Spicy chicken with yoghurt sauce. Between tandoori chicken and laksa pizza, I still prefer the laksa pizza

Laksa pizza and tandoori pizza from pizza express for national day special!
As much as I like the laksa pizza from @pizzaexpresssg , I was disappointed once again at my second visit to the duo outlet.
Was attracted by the min spend $50 get $25 off promo (which lasts still 8 Aug 2021). Paid about $28 for these two pizzas! Promo is only for pre order for self collection using oddle. Had pre ordered one day before only to end up waiting almost 1 hour for the pizzas to be ready! It seems to be that the outlet was just prioritising delivery orders and walk in orders (which didn’t have the promo).
(In my last visit in 2017 at the same outlet, the restaurant also missed out on our order and we had to wait more than 30mins while diners after us got their laksa pizza before us!) seems like 4 years later nothing has changed and the system is still bad 🙁
So if you wish to enjoy this deal, be prepared to wait up till 1 hour. Or perhaps pick an earlier collection timing and hopefully your pizza is ready by then?

My favourite duck rice at East Coast lagoon! Have been eating this since I was a kid! Super love the braised sauce and tender duck meat. Goes well with both the braised rice or porridge!
While the queue may seem short, the wait is always super long. But you can call ahead for takeaway orders!

Checked out Grandma’s recipe at Punggol since i was in the neighbourhood!
This place specalises in nasi lemak! A quick scan of reviews posted showed that most ppl liked the yellow ginger chicken, hence we went for that too! The waiting time for the food was almost 30mins when we reached on a weekend afternoon as just so happens there was a bulk order of like 8 packs two customers before me.
The nasi lemak was nicely packed with everything in their own corners! The yellow ginger chicken reminds me of indo panggang the yellow chicken. To me, it is much like peranakan style chicken. The chilli here was also quite different from the typical nasi lemak chilli. It was sweeter, and I saw bits of onion slices in it too. (No comments for the achar and cucumber as I gave them away).
For the price of $5, it is slightly expensive for nasi lemak. But since we had burpplebeyond 1 for 1.

They charge 50 cents per pack for takeaway here. So do bring your own container to save on costs! We saw punggol residents bringing round containers to store the food! (haha i would have done so but didnt know what kind of containers they accept and decided to just not bring them)
Discovered this lovely cafe thanks to Burpple beyond!
Value for money brunch and made even more affordable with 1 for 1!
🍳steep’s breakfast $17: comes with sourdough bread, eggs (can choose between poached or sunny side up or scrambled), turkey bacon, herb sausage, mushrooms, mixed green, tater tots and roasted tomatoes. Super lots of ingredients! The turkey bacon was also not fatty at all! I loved it! Plus interesting how they offer poached egg option too! Avocadoes in cafe always tastes nicer than the ones I try to make at home myself haha (always can’t get the right stage of ripeness) 💗💗💗
