Tasty and savoury yellow tumeric rice, paired with shrimp and squid, while being finely balanced with the sweetness of prok floss and the pineapple bits. It's about a 10 min walk or so from Tai Seng or MacPherson mrt. Would visit again if I am in the vicinity. Rating 7.1/10

Tucked in a place that has not much human traffic, this was a good find as we simply happened to be in the vicinity. The rice grains were separate and coated with oil, and topped with a fairly large omelette and real crab meat. All the more worth it with burpple one for one meal. Rating 7/10

One of the courses to the burpple set meal during CNY 2022. Not sure what's with the descriptions of "36 Head" or "Eight treasures" aspects of the dish, but to a plebian like me with unrefined taste buds, this tasted very much like an abalone that's placed on top of a mound fragrant glutinous rice that's been beautifully plated. The anchovies / ebi bits added a slight crunch and mouth texture to the dish as well, which was arguably the most memorable aspect of this dish. Rating : 7.4/10.

As with most dishes at jacks place, the meals are generally average. The steak was decent, the slipper lobster was a little too dry and not quite flavourful, and the baked potatoes have the same consistent heartiness as before. Rating 5.8/10.
However, the reason why I am back is for a sense of nostalgia - this place has been at the same location since I was first here as a kid. Staff are generally attentive and courteous.

Seafood pizza was decent. However, I believe that the establishment have changed and the seafood pizza no longer has a scallop on each slice, and has been replaced with clams instead. Rating 6.3/10

The batter was crispy and flaky, but overpowered the taste of the oysters which were average sized. Rating: 6/10

THIS. Order this. You won't regret it.
Quite aside from the generous portions, this isn't your usual minced beef patty. Rather, you get two sizeable cuts of (purportedly) wagyu beef that's very tender and juicy. For the price of $25, this is value for money. Will most definitely come back simply for more of this 😋 Rating 8.8/10

The title explains it all - interesting concept and generous portions. Novelty aside, you can do better with other dishes and options on the menu. Rating : 7/10
