The calamari rings were awesome - tender with a right balance of seafood brininess. The salted egg yolk was just right and not overpowering. A little too pricey at $15 though. Rating : 8/10

Overall average in taste. While this is a tad better than the version with black sesame and cheese, do note that you only get three pieces with cheese. The rest are normal Katsu, which was a little dry. You would be better off ordering their iberico pork don.

Priced at approx $17 for a set. Understand that this is a new item. While the black sesame with cheese helps make the pork much more moist, the pairing doesn't necessarily work as the black sesame overpowers the cheese. Rating : 6/10

Third time eating at this branch, but this is the first time ordering this dish. The mushrooms were a lot more flavourful than Yun nan's other mushroom dish that's fried and served with chillies. Would recommend the dish to anyone who enjoys mushrooms.

Decided to try this for the first time since I have friends telling me that there is a discernible difference in the quality of their eggs.

Overall, this was a satisfying meal albeit not mind blowingly good. Granted, you can tell that the egg is creamier and thicker but I wouldn't necessarily head to this place just for the eggs. The pork katsu slices were thick and juicy; very well executed.

If you are ordering this as a takeaway during lunch hour, be prepared to wait for about 20 mins or so. There's a 20% discount for takeaway orders, so this cost about $11 (UP about $13.90).

Apart from the chicken wing which was still crispy despite takeaway and the choice of using basmati rice, there's nothing to shout about. The chilli was also too sweet.

First time trying the charred eclipse.
I thought that the charred layer at the top would mask the cheese, but boy was I wrong. The flavors of the cheesecake was intense and distinct.

Would totally recommend.

Glad that Jolly Horly is back on the menu!
The taste of the cheesecake is subtle and does balance with the malty taste of Horlicks.

I ordered this as a takeaway lunch on a weekday; there's a 20% discount for takeaways.

The dish amounted to about $11 after discount. While the fried rice was not as oily as those that you will find at zichar stalls and the ingredients were fresher, I would say that they pale slightly in comparison in terms of flavour.

That said, great service from the staff.

This is my second time ordering from this place. Food was fragrant and flavourful, with generous portions of mutton ($11) Totally worth it with the burpple one for one offer. Having tried the fish and chicken briyani previously as well, I would say that the mutton is the best of the three.

Conveniently located along a row of eateries near Hougang mrt, I will be back to try their other dishes. 😋

Part 1 of the Imperial set menu under burpple one for one offer.

Talk about theatrics - this appetiser was served on top of a bowl of dry ice as an eye catching introduction to the seven course meal of the Imperial set menu.

On one end, it was a piece of fried lobster served with some citrus sauce. This was contrasted with a piece of chilled lobster paired with caviar and avocado. Wasn't sure what was the reason for the addition of the avocado, but the contrast in which the lobster was prepared in a single dish was an interesting experience to one's palate. Personal preference was the chilled lobster as it complemented the richness of the caviar.

Great eye-catching start to the meal!
