the royal bbq pork is a must order!
what i love about kph's royal bbq pork bakkwa is that it is made of sliced pork instead of minced pork. to date, it is one of the thickest bakkwas that i know! i would say that texture wise, it is chewy due to sliced pork being used instead of minced pork which usually breaks away/crumbles more easily. i think what makes kph popular with its customers is the texture of the meat that you probably can't find anywhere else. it feels like you're eating an extremely thin slice of dried pork chop.
kph's bakkwa is sweet and juicy with a slight smoky aftertaste. if you're looking for a strong smoky aftertaste, i'm afraid that kph isn't the right place to go for you. a store like lim chee guan 林志源 would better serve your needs.
other popular items at kph would be their famous pineapple bbq pork bakkwa and the royal chilli sliced pork. the pineapple bbq pork bakkwa is definitely a unique selling point that draws the crowd to kph every year and you'll see people buying up boxes after boxes of it. it tastes like a slightly sweeter version of be royal bbq sliced pork bakkwa but with pineapple bits mixed into it. some find the pineapple version more tender than the royal bbq sliced pork but i don't remember the difference being that great. as for the royal chilli sliced pork, I wouldn't mind eating it but if offered the pineapple version or the royal bbq pork version, i would go for them instead. i find that the royal chilli sliced pork version offers a slightly different texture since the meat is more dry in comparison to the other two.
be prepared to queue for hours if you want a taste of this or just try to go at the odd timings and pray that there isn't a queue. i think that they impose restrictions on the quantity that you can buy but you can always just queue again or bring a few friends along with you.
新年块乐 and 新年快乐 everyone 🍊🍊
Love the wide array of dishes here, and the Indian food is really good. A nice setting and authentic food, I will be back!!
Weekday lunch set below 20 & atas atm ( appetizer: carrot soup, main: sea bass , drink: peach / raspberry tea, dessert: bread and butter) don't really like the service there thou ((not very prompt and caring to teenage customers(us)) , and the food were just average. The tea was expected to be Brewed from scratch, the salad was expected to be raw salmon salad, the dessert was too big of a portion that seems to cheat my feelings. By adding just condensed milk on the top of the dessert( bread and butter), it does not seem to be of a high standard that the atmosphere promises to have . Disappointed and will only go there for the desserts that I have eyed on and will only spoil myself if I need some high class dessert cravings
Affordable ( not a hole in pocket ) , healthier choice , great quality : steak,prawns,salad,aglio-olio tossed in olive oil is my fav combo---DAEBAK---- my choice to go for western restaurant @ affordable price
The restaurant offers gluten free pizzas and pastas by pre-order. However, what blew me away was this Risotto Con Maiale ($32). Confit of pork belly and sautéed forest mushrooms in white wine cream and Parmesan with truffle oil. There were as much mushrooms as there was risotto.
Got really excited when they serve Chicken & Waffles because this is one place so had been constantly coming back for ever since my polytechnic days. Their Buttermilk Waffles might be soft but they come pretty fragrant and with a cheese & herb aroma; pretty different from most I have tried, along with fried chicken that was crisp and tender. One of the more impressionable Chicken & Waffles I had as they are usually pretty mediocre. Never try ordering this alone; this was filling considering I had no proper breakfast and dinner the day before ....
One day, someone somewhere went "Hey, how do I make Spam even more unhealthy?" The answer, was of course, to deep fry that over salted can of pork. Little Hiro may not have burger perfection, but they are certainly at the top of their game when it comes to their Spam Fries. Crispy down to the last salty bit without going ham on the grease, it was certainly enjoyable. The curry mayo took this to the next level with its surprisingly excellent companionship with the Spam Fries, somehow managing to take the salty edge off the Spam while maintaining insane amounts of flavor. It's a travesty that Little Hiro doesn't bottle and sell their curry mayo sauce.

White bricked and wooden walls with yellow tables (hmm...). Probably can find some eye candies to hang out with?
Ocean Crab Meat with Spicy Tomato Sauce (SGD 15.90) - Portion was on the smaller side but it was pretty flavourful when the spicy taste kicked in. Would prefer an al dente version of the pasta though.
