Who would have expected to find claypot rice in this corner coffee shop? Located at 727 AMK Ave 6, the claypot rice serves generous serving of chicken and lup cheong. We ordered for 2 pax portion ($15) and it sure looks huge (as though it can feed 3 pax). But eventually we managed to finish 80-90% of it. Didn't find a lot of salted fish though. Not sure how the pricing works though cos we saw other customers getting the same-sized claypot to feed 3 pax. Waiting time was about 15 mins on a weekday evening (~6.45pm).

2nd visit here and there has been a change in their menu. They now have green spicy soup base which is wasabi flavoured. And their special topping includes 2 large slices of chicken and 2 pieces of chicken balls. So I ordered the rich soup version ($11.90) and added special toppings ($5.00). What is special about this outlet is that each bowl of ramen comes with a huge tender chicken drumstick and creamy chicken broth. And of course with every other Keisuke outlets, there is free flow hard-boiled eggs and beansprouts for the dine-in customers. My friend is a frequent customer of Keisuke and claims that the white eggs are easier to peel. Try that to find out!

Note that the restaurant charges the usual 10% service charge and 7% GST. Average damage: $20 - $25

We were looking for something warm for dinner in this cold and rainy weather. Came down to Whampoa Keng to realise that it has actually taken over Real Food at this location.

Luckily we had called in to make reservation just 30 minutes before we arrived. The crowd started streaming in after we were seated down. The service was pretty good as the crew serving the food were all polite despite the crowd.

6 of us ordered a Red Grouper Steamboat (for 3-4 pax), Hotplate Tofu (M), Prawn Paste Chicken (M), 豆苗 (M), Salted Egg Sotong (M), 5 rice and 4 drinks. Total damage: $148 ($24/pax). They have set meals which include the fish head steamboat and other dishes but if you do your sums, It's actually not worth it. So don't fall for it!

Probably because this is a restaurant concept, the food is priced rather expensive, particularly the fish head steamboat. Nonetheless, all the dishes were rather tasty. Worth mentioning is the salted egg sotong, as the portion was huge for M. But a pity that the salted egg taste doesn't stand out.

If you ask me, I would still prefer å—åŽę˜Œ's fish head steamboat.

Melon bingsu is refreshing especially with the vanilla ice cream. A pity we had to waste the rest of the melon flesh as it was kinda difficult to dig the melon.

L to R: Seafood Pancake, Lotus Roots Fries, Bulgogi Fries

These are the recommendations from a friend. I love that they use thick-cut fries for the Bulgogi fries and the lotus roots fries are so addictive! If you order the beer during the happy hours, you would receive free lotus roots fries too!

Living the Korean lifestyle of KFC with beer. They have this ongoing promotion of 10 pcs for $17 which is very worth it. Available flavours: original (aka plain), soya, spicy yangnyum.

I personally prefer the spicy yangnyum one cos it is more flavourful. Try having it with the grapefruit soju mixed with beer!

My 2nd purchase from L'Ɖclair. The eclairs are not cheap ($8 to $8.50 each) and the only reason I was introduced to this place is because of The Entertainer App. Both of my purchases I've got the 3-for-3 eclairs at only $25.50. :)

Must try: Ispahan, Blood Orange Chocolate, Cranberry White Chocolate and itakuja 55%.

Love the roasted baby potatoes, shrimp bonito and roasted almond flakes on my salad! And their yuzu sesame is a great dressing for salads. Teriyaki chicken however tastes more like black pepper chicken and there were only 2 small pieces.

Total damage: $9.90

When it comes to peranakan food, Ivin's always comes to our mind. They serve decent portioned food at decent prices. They even provide suggestions on the number of dishes to order based on the number of pax. There were 5 of us and we ordered honey pork, nyonya chap chye, ayam rendang, Udang masak nanas, fried ngo hiang, Chye poh omelette, tauhu goreng, sotong hitam, and 5 rice.

Must try: Honey Pork, Nyonya Chap Chye, Ayam Rendang, Udang Masak Nanas

Total damage: $10/pax

A cosy place for after-dinner desserts. Our 2nd time here and the waffles and ice cream never disappoints us. Plain waffle with a single scoop costs $8.90, and top up $3.50 for an additional scoop. No GST or service charge imposed. Their dark chocolate and Bailey's are one of the nicer flavours for the night. Cookies and cream was on the safe side.

Chanced upon this popup stall just outside of Giant. It is selling MSW ice cream - $12/pint or $3.50/cup. Frankly speaking, I can't differentiate the different grades/types of durians so I don't know if it really tasted like MSW. But it sure has an acceptable durian taste. My mum who is very picky about food said it can't be MSW if it's only $3.50. But personally I think it's worth trying and I may buy it again when I have a crave.

Craved for Popeyes and just walked into one outlet. The chicken pieces are served with the hot maple sauce drizzled over. You could easily smell the maple syrup and surprisingly, the sauce is a little spicy - can do with more spiciness though. The berry merry drink is basically berry syrup mixed with mountain dew - looks pretty pleasing to the eyes and tasted not too bad!
