I've been wanting to try this for ages! It's pricey but with Beyond, it's so much more affordable.
I don't remember the flavours exactly but if you are a fan of dark chocolate, you can't really go wrong. It's rich and dense, promising a really good experience.
The fish was tender and firm. Sea Bass is our favourite and definitely complemented the sauce well. We ordered some cabbage which absorbed the sauce well.
It's pricey but for the quality, it's something I wouldn't mind paying for once in a while.
Thank goodness we finally have a milk tea store in Singapore that focuses on the important things in life, tea!! It's pricey, each cup costing around $4 to 5 but for the quality, I think it's worth it.
We got this on the beyond 1f1 which comes with a drink.
Both of us ordered the Signature. Even after dousing our dish with chilli, it didn't do much to help make it tastier. It's lacking a little in flavour, perhaps because we are more used to heavy flavours. The beef itself is fine. Pretty tender and not tough.
Both of us ordered the lemon tea, and it was really really sour that we barely drank half.
The cookie was warm and soft and moped up and lava and ice cream so well. Each component was pretty good. My chocolate ice cream was a pretty decent one, milky and dense enough. The matcha lava is thick enough and not overly bitter. I felt like the chocolate flavour overpowered the matcha lava, I guess it's all about making the right pairing.
My friend ordered the Earl Grey with chocolate lava cookie. My goodness, this is absolute heaven! The thick flavour of tea paired with the slightly bitter chocolate lava. Their Earl Grey is by far, one of the best I've had, and I'm one to always always try all the tea flavours at any ice cream parlour I go to.
Initially thought having the tea would make this set less worth it, but the tea is really good! Both of us got jasmine green tea and it was really fragrant. I even asked for a refill of hot water. Their tea is from Kittea which is a local brand and I would actually consider buying the tea from Kittea.
Came on a weekday at 4pm and there were a few other people around, not crowded and it had a good ambience.
Overall, really enjoyed my experience. Can't wait to be back and try other flavours and combinations! :)
The mushrooms were really the star, cooked to perfection and that umami flavour really lifted and carried this dish.
While the beef was tender with perfect texture, I felt like it was sorely under seasoned. I tried moping up with sauce with it but it didn't do much for me. The mashed potatoes were good but that's it, nothing spectacular. I was expecting it to be creamier as previous reviews have raved about. I definitely have had better at other cafes at similar prices.
If you are into subtle flavours, this would be great for you. Otherwise, asking for some salt and pepper would probably do you some good.
Ambience is great, the interior is lovely. I came at 3pm on a weekday and it was empty and it's a great place to chill and hangout with friends.
Honestly, I've heard many good things about Eleven Strands and naturally my expectations were high. I was disappointed with my experience here not because the food was bad, but because it just didn't seem that great. Its quite pricey if not for burpple beyond. I might consider coming again but I don't think I would pay full price.
They were generous with the sauce which may or may not be a good thing. It felt like the ratio of sauce to pasta is 2:1 but tbh I'm not complaining cause more is better :). The sauce is good but with my first bite I felt like it was lacking in something, spice! We asked for chilli padi and we felt like it completed the dish.
It's a satisfying plate of pasta, nothing to shout about but decent.
I have been dreaming of this wonderful dish since the last time I came here. The only thing stopping me from visiting more often is the distance and accessibility.
The biggest draw for me is the soup. It has a strong tomato fragrance, adding that extra sour note to complete the Tom Yum. But if you don't like tomato soup bases, this might not be for you.
Hidden beneath a golden crust, the fish is tender and firm, holding its shape with every bite. They are so generous with the fish that I find it difficult to finish, even though its so good!
I reached at 12 on a weekday and shortly after I ordered, a pretty long queue formed. It looked like it moved pretty fast though. This store is at the corner of the hawker centre. Quite hard to miss when you're here at lunch time because its the only store with the long queue!
The noodles were springy and tasty. The broth was decent, personally liked as it was not too salty. The beef stood out the most in this dish - it was plentiful and juicy.
Overall: Pretty decent bowl of tontaksu ramen. The 1 for 1 makes this a really good deal to consider if you are around plaza singapura.
Sidenote: Self-service and order establishment. This means that you order and collect your dish before finding a seat. During peak period you should confirm you are able to find seats before ordering.
Dining here was a pleasant surprise. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, even under the crust. I ordered the spicy chicken and while it wasn't too hot, it gave just enough kick. I liked the option of having a garden salad on the side to balance out the oiliness of the chicken. The mashed potatoes are okay, the sauce can do better. In terms of price, it rivals that of major fast food chains but I think Chic-a-boo could possibly be more value for money.
My first mouthful was pretty pleasant. The beehoon soaked up the sauce well and it tasted flavourful. But as the meal continued, it started to feel too salty. I had to drink a lot of water after the meal:/. The pork was okay, nothing special. Overall for this price, I think it's just okay.
The portion seemed small because of the bowl it came in. But at the end of the meal I did feel almost full. The chicken was on point, well marinated, soft and tender. The noodles were chewy and not at all soggy. The sauce was really quite 麻 and 辣 which was surprising! I felt that it was even more 麻 than most of the mala's out there. Overall a decent dish and I would definitely consider coming back for my soya sauce chicken noodle fix!
