Trying out Hakka Yu after some time, which is famous for its Salt Baked Chicken. I thought the crowd might have died down a little, but nope, not even close, the queue was still long. These are the moments I cherish having made an advance reservation to beat the crowd.

Guangdong Intangible Heritage Salt-Baked Chicken (Whole) ($37.60++)
To be honest, it looked pretty good. The colour, the hue, the glittering yellowish skin was a sight to behold and raised high expectations. The aroma was subtly fragrant, but the taste was average. The meat was tender and the skin smooth, yet the flavour did not cling or absorb well. It was also rather dry and not juicy enough, probably because the heated pot evaporated the juices. I also wished the chicken feet and other bony parts were softer and melt‑in‑the‑mouth, as the current texture was too firm to chew.
