Went for dinner at Market Bistro on a weekday evening and had good food and service! Had the truffle & parmesan cream pasta, the ribeye, and the NY cheesecake but my personal favourite was the baby squid fritters & the sauce it came with!
Tan Ser Seng Herbs Restaurant really serves very delicious and nourishing soups. They are very generous with the ingredients.
We ordered cordyceps ginseng chicken soup, their signature Jade tofu, my favorite yam rice and handmade fresh prawn rolls. The soup tasted very fulfilling and the ingredients are so generous. My recommendation is the handmade fresh prawn rolls, the meat is sweet and delicious and alot of water chestnuts. It goes very well with the sweet sauce and sesame. The best thing is they have ice cream for dessert absolutely free !
Tried the Lai Lai Xiao Mei Set, and it’s definitely worth it! The Ru Rou Fan was the highlight—fatty pork belly braised with that rich, savoury sauce soaking perfectly into the fluffy rice. The Taiwan vermicelli had a smooth, slurp-worthy broth, super comforting. And of course, no Taiwan meal is complete without bubble tea. Noodles lover can get try their Lai Lai Da Ge. Each set comes with side dish and bubble tea. Also had their Signature Taiwan pancake, popcorn chicken and braised pig intestines.
Overall, a solid meal. Portion size is decent, flavours are on point, and everything comes together nicely.
I had the ginseng black chicken soup with yam rice. The broth is rich and chicken is tender. With aromatic ginseng taste, definitely worth a try. Most importantly the service staff are all very polite and nice. Will come again to try their other soups.
This steamed meat patty is a dish that’s close to my heart — coarsely chopped patty made with a good balance of fatty and lean meat, giving it that perfect springy texture. ❤️ the generous slices of black fungus, salted fish, and dong cai [a.k.a. preserved cabbage] that are mixed into the patty —

Down with a pesty cough all week. 😮💨 So we made our way to Taman Jurong Market and Food Centre for a much-needed fix of zi char goodness. We were greeted with heartwarming smiles: ‘It’s been a long time since we last saw you!’ And yes, indeed. It’s been over two years since our last visit.
This comforting, earthy and packed with flavour — braised egg tofu, tender roast pork and fresh, succulent prawns with eggy gravy is definitely the cure I needed (and maybe a little help for that annoying cough too 😉).
