Soup-er Delicious
Tiong bahru estate isn't just about the cafes that have been popping up in the recent years. There are a lot of local food that started wayyyy before the cafe scene. For example this bowl of comforting pig organ's soup($4) which had this hint of sweetness I didn't really like but also didn't mind. One thing's for sure they know how to cook the pig's liver properly, it's detestable when it's overcooked and becomes tough. The stall also has a specialty that we didn't order(glutinous rice stuffed intestine?) Which I will the next time we're there. Although father chua and I prefer a pig's organ soup that's more flavorful(salty and sour-ish) but we can't deny the fact that it's awesome having something less heavy on the palettes once in a while. If you're in the area, do pop by this store at the market and you will also find a lot of other local delights. You can end your meal with a slice of cake and ice beverage at the cafes nearby. 😉
