When you're craving for a good meat meal, Meatsmith is defo the place to be! This Beef Brisket ($28) was so tender, barbecued w the right caramelised, burnt skin infused with smoky flavour. If your heart could still take it, get the mac and cheese to complete the sinfully good meal
Gave this a go but was pretty let down by how hastily my Crab Meat Aglio Olio ($16) was put tgt, giving no texture or flavors in this main that could potentially crab walk its way into my heart. Big, honest portion but would I pay $16 to eat this again? No ☹️️
Lovely ambience, al fresco, private dining experience (albeit the mozzies that sucked me dry) loved the tender, flavourful Iberico Jowl ($20) glazed w stout, crunchy kimchi apple bits and scallions 👍🏻 good food but really small portion!
Amazingly charred cauliflower w a bed of cauliflower cous cous, pieces of well roasted serrano ham and grated manchego cheese ($16) cauliflower CANNOT get any better than this 🔥
Spanish omelette ($6 each) was a good mix of confit onions, eggs, potato and crispy, thin toast. The blend of potato and concentrated onion flavour reminded me of 葱油饼, but you'll never find exquisite details like olive oil caviar on that.
Set B had 2 types of fiber and 1 type of protein ($14.50) really good bacon wrapped grilled asparagus w shaved parmesan, salmon was baked perfectly (so moist and tender) w zesty garlic lemon butter that I couldn't get enough of 😛 will be back!
Homemade pappardelle w lamb ragout ($26) and loads of shaved parmigiano reggiano stole my heart in a single bite. Pasta was al dente, just slightly undercooked for the perfect firm texture and doused in flavorful lamb ragout stewed tender with slight gamy taste, so good!
Cured Salmon Tartare ($17) on the lunch menu was incredibly clean, fresh with thinly sliced pickled cucumber, yogurt, dill, croutons and cucumber juice, definitely a good starter that excites your palate 🐟
Grilled Octopus Salad ($24) from TBC had the best flavors on a plate; getting the sweetness from bits of orange meat and pomegranate, salt from fresh crunchy octopus, tartness from lemon and vinaigrette and light bitterness from baby spinach and quinoa. Good balance! You just can't beat having a tasty seafood salad by the beach 😉
Boulud's charcuterie booth! Staff recommended the Pâté Grand-mère ($15) which was mainly made of chicken liver + pork jowl. It was actually my first time trying pâté! One word: rich. Full chicken liver flavor, went well w toast and mustard grains. Could get used to this for breakfast/tea 😌
Ended up at S&S after craving for some good, classic bagels; their sesame bagel was not too dense and easy to chew (altho I much prefer a plain bagel), smoked salmon tasted fresh (they used fassler) and paired w rich, herby cream cheese, sharp red onions and capers. Overall palatable, an easy lunch option ($18). P/s: I love eating my bagel sandwiched (w hands)!
Huge simplistic space with loads of seatings, good place for gatherings/big groups. Prompt service. Had the Black Angus Ribeye Steak ($22 for 200g) which was flavorful (accompanied by a slight charred taste) and sprinkled w sea salt flakes. Overall a palatable dish; truffle mustard was a lil rich and salad dressing was way too acidic. Still would patronize if I'm craving for steak w a tight budget!
