Despite the modest pricing, my dining partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this onion soup and I personally think that it's one of the best I've had.
.
Breaking through the deliciously soft soup-infused cheesy bread, you will find lots of well cooked onions and a clear brown soup that is nicely balanced between sweet and salty.
.
But the most impressive part about the soup is that it does not leave a bitter aftertaste unlike many other onion soups I've had.
.
I'm definitely going to return to Garçons for this! And next time I'm going to pair this with the famous chicken wings from @twowingssg !
.
And that's the nice thing about dining at a food-court-like place! To mix and match different cuisines as you like!
These are 1/2 dozen deshelled land snails served in pesto tomato sauce and with crispy baguette at the side. On the salty side but not unbearably so. Pretty good though I prefer my snails in their shells and drenched in garlic herb butter instead. Worth a try if you like the pesto version of escargots.
Think 12-Hour Belly of Pork, Duck Confit, 1/2 Dozen Escargots and Onion Soup for just SGD 53.60 Nett!
.
And Ice Earl Grey for SGD 2.50 Nett, Kronenbourg Beer Full Pint for SGD 10 Nett! (Happy hour promo, Usual SGD 11).
.
Food is generally quite good, especially at this price point. Though expectedly, they are not comparable to the more expensive places. However, their onion soup impressed us enough that we will return just to have it again.
