SG Lor Mee Trail…
Been a fan of Xin Mei Xiang’s Lor Mee ever since I first had it at their main outlet at Old Airport Road Food Centre, and I’m happy to report that the standard of their Lor Mee at this outlet is equally good! Plus this outlet opens till dinner time, and is fully air-conditioned too!
The Lor Mee here comes in 2 sizes (normal - $6 & large - $8), and each bowl comes with your choice of noodles (flat/round yellow noodle, kway teow or beehoon), fried fish chunks, braised pork belly, braised egg and generous topping of condiments (garlic, vinegar & chilli). Love the thick & gooey gravy that is really well-balanced in terms of taste, and the condiments certainly adds a new depth of flavour to the gravy too! I don’t usually finish the gravy when I have lor mee, but I did with this bowl! The fried fish chunks are a delight too, so fresh and goes really well with the umami gravy!
Pretty good lor mee from this stall at Tanjong Pagar Plaza Market & Food Centre. The ingredients were very crispy and fresh!
This stall has one of the longest queue in the food centre and it is easy to see why. The lor mee here is above average and is loaded with a whole lot of ingredients under that dark gooey gravy. Value for money!
Jue Dai Lor Mee (stall 13) serves good comforting lor mee that always satisfy my lor mee cravings. It is not Xin Mei Xiang's standard but is definitely better than alot of other stalls out there.
Be prepared to queue and be rewarded for your patience with a delicious bowl of lor mee that i rate as one of the best in Singapore.
A good alternative for lor mee if Xin Mei Xiang is closed or the queue is too long. Taste & style is quite similar.
Fancy a bowl of Lor Mee for $2.50 that is tasty as well?
