Hawker Eats × Kolo Mee 🍜
Al-dente cooked curly noodles topped with lava egg, prawn dumplings, fatty char siew and granny's braised minced meat. The dumplings are handmade and generously filled with prawns, pork and chestnut. Springy strands of kolo mee are well tossed in a sweet and savoury sauce with chilli. The only disappointment was the four pathetic and small slices of char siew served on my plate otherwise everything else was good and worth a revisit 》$5
They’re known for their signature Sarawak kolo mee that looks quite similar to wonton mee and they also offer spare ribs noodles, chicken feet noodles, mushroom noodles, dumpling noodles and minced meat noodles.
Their Signature Sarawak Kuching Kolo Mee Set comes with fried wontons, dumplings, char siew slices, thick pieces of braised pork ribs, vegetables and a dash of chilli padi on the side. The al-dente kolo noodles are made of egg white without alkali. It has a firm and springy texture which goes very well with the braised sauce. The braised pork ribs were thick and tender that had been simmered for a long period of time and absorbed all goodness into the meat. Price ranges from $5 - $8 and I went ahead with the $6 portion for an extra piece of pork ribs.
Non-processed kolo noodles made of duck egg with no preservative added. The noodles were well done to a springy texture before being tossed in fragrant scallion oil, lard and speciality homemade chilli sauce. Mix them all up and you will get fragrant, al-dente noodles with a nice bite and chew. Each portion came with a generous amount of fried wonton, boiled wonton, char siew, minced meat and fried shallots 》$4
Each bowl of noodle comes with char siew, minced meat, fried wonton and vegetables together with springy egg noodle toss in fragrant shallot oil. They are quite generous with the portion of noodles given the wallet-friendly price tag 》$4.50/small
At first glance, this looks like a fusion of bcm and wonton noodles except it uses kolo mee. Although it looks dry and plain, the soy sauce used together with fragrant shallot oil is good enough to make it aromatic and tasty. Each bowl comes with extremely springy noodles, minced pork, slices of char siew, lard and a dollop of their homemade fiery chilli.
Beware of their devil chilli that burns but at the same time make me crave for more. I like their noodles which are super springy with a light and good texture without the alkaline taste. The minced pork is also well seasoned and flavourful 》$4/small

I'm in a relationship with food. Why can't we just declare our never ending love and vows towards some food item? I'm sure that would not result in divorces.
