Massive Arms or Thick Burnt Rice Its either I had Massive Arms that I managed to scrap the entire claypot base or the rice at the bottom was too thick… Golden Mile one is definitely better. 😬

Claypot Chicken Rice The claypot rice comes brimming with a good mix of ingredients such as chunky and tender pieces of chicken, Chinese sausages, liver sausages, bits of salted fish and vegetables. Each order is prepared and slow-cooked individually over a fire with strong wok-hei. The rice over here is slightly more moist yet still fluffy with delectable charred edges at the bottom. Dark sauce and oil are given separately for mixing. Be prepared for the wait as they can get extremely busy and popular during peak hour. It is advisable to call and place your order in advance. Ginger Spring Onion Frog Porridge Tender frog legs simmered in a dark and gingery, soy-based sauce with chopped spring onions over high heat. The frog legs were plump, silky soft and best paired with plain porridge cooked in claypot. Deep Fried Frog Legs with Crispy Garlic ($32/Medium) We have all had frog legs porridge and have always been told that frog tastes just like chicken. But I haven’t always been able to draw that similarity until I tried Fried Frog Legs! Fried frog is probably the lesser known frog leg dish but I would recommend that you try this the next time you are craving for frog legs porridge. The tender, fall off the bone flesh coupled with the fried outer layer is a refreshing take on a traditional favourite. The Dried Chilli Frog Legs here are pretty good too. Hotpot Was craving some prawn soup so decided to come here because I love the prawn soup here. Portion seems to have gotten smaller from my previous times here but the menu was revamped. Has a sauce bar too. Will come again.

Wagyu ribeye set The burpple deal for the most expensive beef hotpot set at city hotpot. honestly when it comes to hotpot, premium meat can’t really be differentiated but I do find the meat cuts slightly bigger than the usual (cheaper) beef set. I usually go for the prawn soup (comes with one prawn) for the soup base which I do recommend. I also got the ramen noodles which goes well with the soup at the end. The set has a wide variety of ingredients so it’s my go to when I want hotpot with more ingredients!! Always very full when I finish my portion. 8/10 Damage: 💸 $72.45 (plus one coke)

Hearty Meal 😋 Out of everything I ordered, the fried pork and sambal lala were definite standouts. The pork was tender, flavourful, and not greasy at all. The sambal lala had a unique twist compared to the usual, but the sauce was so addictive—it kept me going back for more! The other dishes were delicious too, and everything paired perfectly with their chicken rice chilli, which added an extra kick. I went on a Tues and was surprised to see the place packed. I’ll definitely be back to try their chicken rice next time!

Best Porridge We had a satisfying meal at Gu Zao Ren Taiwan Food Porridge. We ordered the black pepper beef, and the sauce was thick, rich, and flavourful — great with the porridge. The omelette with cai po was tasty, with just the right balance of saltiness. The stir-fried cabbage was fresh and nicely done, not too oily. Service was friendly and efficient, making the dining experience pleasant. A solid spot for comforting Taiwanese porridge dishes.

Cozy meal at Guzaoren Had a wonderful and cozy dinner here Guzaoren Taiwan Porridge! We got the Three cup chicken, hot plate toufu, chaipou omelette, cabbage and the porridge. All the dishes tasted homely and flavorful, and complimented the porridge really well! Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a warm cozy dinner that’s worth the price!

Lean Meat Mee Sua I had a delicious bowl of mee sua that was well-soaked in a flavourful broth filled with herbal goodness. The pork slices were generous and lean, and the texture of the mee sua was silky smooth without being too mushy even after sitting in the soup for some time. It was a satisfying and hearty meal with every bite being full of meaty and herbal flavours 》$4.50

Mee Sua Soup Seng Kee is popular for their Mee sua Soup. Had always been going to their Kembangan Main branch, and I would gladly confirm that it is just as good here at Kaki Bukit. Herbalicious and flavourful Soup. Meats were tender & fresh. Added some chilli padi, and the soup was damn shiok.

Pork Mee Sua This hawker centre version of the main unit at Kembangan is quite different. But it has this signature dish. I haven't eaten it in years. I don't take innards so mine's all sliced pork. It came boiling hot. Overall, it was decent but not extraordinary. The herbal soup's fine but could be better. The pork was quite basic. Seng Kee is really defined by how unique this dish is in Singapore.

Supper time of our lives One of my favourite late night supper place to go do. Everytime come here must have their herbal pork mee sua. The pork meats were all tender, and soup was very flavourful. A must have when u visit Seng Kee. Another must have dish here, is their chaota bee hoon, blanchan with lime goes so well with the bee hoon. All the seafood are hidden under the blanket of chaota bee hoon. The prawn paste Chicken also not bad, crispy skin was shiok. Seng kee is a great option for any late night supper.

Black ginseng chicken soup Been awhile since my last visit but this traditional black chicken soup is still as hearty and nourishing as ever

Hearty Hawker Favourites Chaota Beehoon ($10.80) - full of flavour and delightfully crispy at the edges, this was a great with the accompanying chilli. Though my dad preferred JB Ah Meng's version. White Mee Sue ($6.80) - chock full of fish slices, minced pork, and even small shrimps, we couldn't stop slurping up this bowl of goodness. Highly recommended! Qing Long Chye ($13.80) - it was alright, slightly more expensive than our usual order of Kang Kong or sweet potato leaves. Prawn Cracker ($13.80) - crispy and filled with minced prawn, dip it in the accompanying mayo for a good bite to whet your appetite. Can get slightly heavy towards the end though, so best to share this with 4 pax.

What’s this? I couldn’t figure out what’s the centre part about - rather confusing taste. I would not order this again.

came here specifically for the Half Half Pancake I loved that I could try both kimchi & seafood pancakes at once. There’s a lot of batter but it’s loaded with ingredients so it wasn’t too starchy!

Go to bbq place Fave spot that transports us to Korea. All the fare is delicious, from army stew to their bbq meats, to the pajeon. Love the free flow sides and barley tea as always. We got a corner and it was pretty hot. ($155 for 4)

Hotpot + Teppanyaki Buffet hotpot and Teppanyaki! I must say, for the price paid, the quality of meat and soup is really good. The beef, pork and chicken are really good. Lamb is a bit too gamy. Prawns are fresh and perfect for teppanyaki. The soup (I had the mala) is drinkable and gives you the kick what mala should give. Not HDL but really good enough. I love the duo cooking option. Hotpot+BBQ Buffet Ate before in their Bedok branch and I like it over there but here, Yishun Branch, it wasn't pleasant enough to fully enjoy it. Rushing and stuffing down myself with food without digesting within the 90 mins time limit. It was a mad rush.😬 Bedok had a wider spread of food and better quality too which includes cooked food and more atas stuff at about the same price. The concept is just simply different. The good thing about Yishun branch is they include BBQ and Grilled Fish style and their pot of broth and teppan plate is personal.👀 Waiting time for food will take quite a while but generally still alright and the quality of meat above average. The broth were delicious and great but you need to wait half an hour before it arrive. So bbq your food first. Food can order thru your phone via QR code or simply take from the conveyor belt. Should you upgrade for the grilled fish experience?🤔 I would say rather not. You won't have enough time finishing your food and your table will be overflowing due to limited spacing. Service here is great tho. Laksa 🍜 Visited on 11 October 2022 $3 only! But portion might be small so can choose to add noodles / other ingredients. Very decent laksa as the gravy is light and not too heavy / jelat. Queued for around 15 mins during weekday lunch. Saw other people ordering ngoh Hiang from the other stall to go with their laksa.

Peanut Porridge From Sin Heng Kee Slow-cooked to perfection! The peanut porridge from this famous Hougang shop is a steal at just $5/bowl. Rich, creamy, and bursting with flavour. Worth braving the lunchtime queue for!

Good porridge but wouldn't queue too much for this Finally tried this extremely famous porridge stall, with queues reaching up to an hour. Equipped with number systems and people willing to sit outside in the heat for an hour, they got to be doing something right. I had the Pork Organ Porridge ($6) and indeed it was quality porridge. It was flavourful and filled with loads of ingredients such as pork liver, pork intestines and cuttlefish. The liver was fresh and not overcooked, and the intestines were surprisingly not smelly at all. Pork balls and slices of lean meat were tender! Add in a dough fritter ($1.20), and you got yourself a complete porridge experience! It was definitely a good porridge, but I feel like I wouldn't queue for more than 15 minutes for this. I think a 1 hour wait is really quite far-fetched for a porridge 😂

Porridge Throwback post - Thick and flavorful, amazing consistency 😍😍😍 Not sure if it is only for delivery or this has become a staple, it comes with a small packet of fried youtiao which feel more like biscuits than the usual doughy and fluffy version. Having mixed it with the congee, the slightly softened crisp youtiao provide different texture. However, I cannot help but notice the used fryer oil (臭油味) aftertaste.
