For just S$3 a pop it’s extremely economical especially when it’s spiced with their “secret seasoning” they add to almost all their BBQ skewers and meats. Definitely brings out the umami and maybe packed with MSG so get their Lao Te beer which is light and easy to drink.

Ain’t gonna complain about cheap and awesome Chinese food that transports you to Chang Chun, Northeast China which is where their BBQ originated. A fine establishment run by mainland Chinese and you may be the only local dining there which can be a little intimidating but open up their menu and take a read, that’s the curse & beauty of direct translation - A Lost in Translation.

Many prefer their Prawn Mee with soup however I like mine dry. I love the additional fried shallots, sambal chili and the addictive yet arteries clogging pork lard. The soup version is damn shiok and awesome to have in a cold rainy day but the dry version have a mysterious charm to it. .

Homemade by the resident Japanese Chef using his own recipe, the texture of the tofu was truly unique, holding the silky smooth and incredibly soft tofu was the paper thin tofu skin that breaks with effortless resistance. Best eaten pipping hot, but beware of the maximum facial damage. .

As for the yakitori, it’s mandatory to get the Tebasaki (💵S$8) Chicken Wings. Crispy skin and seasoned well, good and reliable, not life changing. Those who knows me know that I have a weakness for anything Mochi, especially warabimochi. .

Jinjo’s WarabiMochi (💵S$10) is once again made by the Chef using his own recipe. The texture was just right, not melt in your mouth but satisfying enough.
