Started 2024 with a promise to wake up early for breakfast every Sundays/PB holidays. No more lunch time sunday wake ups for this guy here.
And eggs benedicts was of coz the most Atas of all breakfast to reward myself for waking up at 6am on New Year's day. Extra reward for waking up when it's raining too.
Choupinette is a french cafe that serves up some fantastic french pastries, but their most popular item here is their Eggs Benedict.

Basically an awesome Custard filled donut.
They have a variety of French pastries here, and all look damn awesome.
The chou chou is Sinful and a must have here at choupinette. Which are basically donuts.
Old school and fantastic Steamboat
Having a choice of fish head or fish meat, we unanimously voted to go fish meat as we were lazy to deal with bones.
And we were served with a steamboat full of fresh slices of batang fish meat.
But what really won us all over was how fantastic, 5* great the Soup was. It was flavourful and tasted damn good.
The fish meat was also fresh and portion is damn huge.
Free top up of soup, but the top up seems like just a pot of hot water.
Auntie will push a cart of side dishes over to order like those hong kong dim sum push cart. There was braised duck, braised egg and salted Vegetables. Some days have pork trotters.
Shake Shack needs no introduction.
The beef burgers here have a great reputation, which makes their burgers a must have. But what really surprise me was how good the Shroom patty is, which was fried to crisp and was filled with not just a protobello mushroom, but was also filled with cheese that oozes out after every bite.
Another must have here at SHAKE shack, definitely the milkshake, which was rich and thick and definitely very sinful. Felt like I was eating an ondeh ondeh cake.
Stingray 4ever serves a Plethora of fresh seafood, from sotong to prawns to crabs to Lobsters etc etc.
But the main thing u will ever come here for, is for their stingray. The stingray can be cooked in their signature sambal or with Garlic Butter.
But I have always been a sucker for sambal Stingray, and that's what I went with.
The sambal portion is adequate, the meat was fresh and meat easily slides off the bone.
$18 portion damn alot, easily $20++ at other locations like the InfamOus Bedok85.

The Sotong tasted fresh and the sambal was sweet & damn flavourful, a great sauce to go with white rice for sure.

The Crayfish can be cooked in either their signature chilli sauce, or the equally awesome Garlic Butter Sauce.
Total of 4 Crayfish @ $42, price is by weight, rather expensive, but the crayfish was fresh and meaty. And it was grilled well, meat was not overcooked whatsoever.
1 thing that East coast Lagoon does not lack, is its Satay stalls.
Along a stretch of Muslim stalls, u will easily walk pass over 5 stalls trying to psycho passer-bys to come buy satays from their stall.
My satays came from a a store named "Sixty Satay" . Satay not bad leh, cooked till the edges slightly charred, and the meat was fresh also man.
Each Satay @90cents and minimum order of 10.

Came here to Hay Gelato expecting to use Beyond 1for1 at 9pm, but found out Beyond 1for1 only between 1pm-7pm.
The waffle was crispy and tasted good.
The Pistachio gelato was nutty and the Hojicha had a strong tea taste.
Next time, will come back between 1pm-7pm
Quite a few patrons at Whampoa Makan Place eating from this store, saw about 5-6 other tables eating this.
Seafood was fresh.
Entire dish was slightly above average.
Portion was rather good as well. Not bad for $6.

The last burpple review for this place was 9 years ago. So for it to survive so long, means surely have standard la.
And for $18 portion, I think not bad the size, elsewhere like this maybe $23++. Somemore $18 is 2024 price, 9% GST price.
Served on a hotplate, so the sambal sauce still bubbling when served.
Sambal was quite good as well.
