I never enjoyed non tater tots hash browns but the ones here are good and honestly doesnāt seem like frozen food. I hope Iām right about that. Added 50 cents for the extra cheese.
Whoever came up with this root beer cake is a genius because the flavour really goes so well with ice cream. Simple dessert that brings great satisfaction. The root beer cake is always consistent, it is my must eat whenever I go to sernagoon.
Please get the chawanmushi here. It is very value for money with some additional ingredients aside from just the normal steamed egg. Isaramuya is one of the few halal Japanese places in the west. While I wouldnāt rave about the food in general (my sushi kinda fell apart quite easily) :/ the service is good and food is served rather quickly.
Decided to give this a shot again, and this time the chicken wings were ready. I must say it looked quite dry but the chicken was quite nicely fried, didnāt taste dry at all. Sambal was still shiok and they were quite generous with it. I like the Sambal goreng, the fermented beans was not easy to chew, unlike many other stalls that have it too hard. I will be back to try the otah!

Had to go for vegetarian today and was pretty pleased to Aloha Poke could cater to my need - Greendot had too long a queue and I couldnāt be bothered to queue. This is two servings of tofu which was pretty delicious when mixed with the salad dressing. I had mixed grains, cherry tomato, cucumber and avocado. The bowl came with salad and small pieces of pineapple which added a little more contrasting flavour to the meal. This satisfying bowl came at 16.90. Probably the only poke store in the west for now (Iām hoping Iām considered well informed)
Doesnāt get better than this, burpple beyond has one for one. Earl grey lavender for the win! Always love the light and refreshing flavour.
Baked Pork Buns are a must at Tim Ho Wan. Enjoyed the Pork and shrimp siew mai. But a little horrified that my fav egg white spring roll has been taken off the menu (hoping that itās a temporary arrangement). The rest of the items are generally quite mediocre. Do not order egg tarts there are many places that do it better. I also ordered the fried yam with chilli crab but the taste of the yam overwhelmed the chilli crab. In all, fuss free family favourite that has something to cater to all in the family.

The Butao Ramen has a light broth which suits my palate. I asked for my noodles soft and went for cabbage rather than green onions. We had the mini gyoza that came with like a crispy layer on the top which was nice cause it added some texture to the gyoza skin. A meal thatās comforting for the stomach and wallet :)
Got lucky and managed get a slot due to a last minute pull out. This is my first private kitchen dining experience and I am very glad to have done it. Super impressed by chef for being a man of many talents.
In particular, I really enjoyed the roasted duck and chicken. The duck was roasted with a very traditional charcoal stove and it is true that you canāt find such a taste outside, looks dry on the outside but very tender on the inside. It has a very āoakyā smell. The concubine chicken is a three month old chicken yet tasted super tender and I love the sauce.
Featured is the crayfish omelette which is super nicely plated and the crayfish has so much roe in it!
Great meal, 8 dishes, 80 bucks. Donāt expect super rich and intense flavours, it is still very homecooked style, albeit the type of ingredients used. With great company, perfect wind down for the weekend.
What do you look for in a Nasi Lemak? If chilli, Latiffa Huri hits the right spot. The Ikan kuning was quite nicely fried and did not taste dry. I felt that rice could do with a stronger coconut taste but overall, still a good and very reasonably priced Nasi Lemak. My mom really enjoyed the lontong which had a generous amount of rice cakes! Paid slightly more than 5 bucks for these two plates. I totally forgot to add the Otah in my hastiness to eat breakfast and the chicken wings were not ready at 8am. Will return again to try those.
