The Iberico Pulled Pork Wrap $18 consist of tender pulled cheek which is slow cooked for 12 hours. The tortilla wrap is blanket along with Apple slaw, lettuce and avocado, accompanied with potato crisps at the side. π½
Here's the crowd favorite, Har Cheong Gai Chicken Waffles $24! That Intense shrimp paste chicken is flavorful, rest on top of the waffle and sunny side up. And accompanied with Sambal maple syrup. This southern-style with a Singapore twist is done right. π (Locals will love this but Caucasians may find this stinky π)
Looking for a fresh & zesty waffle? Go for the lemon & white chocolate sundae and opt for the additional buttermilk waffle! The Tahitian vanilla ice cream was light and refreshing, the lemon jelly added a nice tang, the cornflake crumble added nice texture and the waffle wasn't too heavy or soggy. Happy belly! $14 for the sundae and an additional $5 for the waffle.
A different kind of pancakes for a different audience.
Finally got to try the pancakes at the popular Kyushu Pancake Cafe. At about noon, every table was utilised and by Japanese women! So I got really excited because I thought this place must be legit!
The cafe boasts of their pancake mix which is made from seven specially selected Kyushu-grown grains. The informative section of the menu was in Japanese but I could deduce from the graphics that there's wheat, barley, glutinous rice and Okinawa sugar among other things.
One of the signatures, the Matcha Montblanc (S$18++), looked so good that I had to try it. Upon chomping on a chunk from the stack of pancakes, I knew this was one of those healthier alternative food choices...
The taste of the pancakes were muted as it's not as sweet as we would expect it to be. The fresh cream and Mont Blanc (purΓ©ed chestnuts) on top were delightful. The matcha sauce was good but it was simply too little for three pancakes.
I can understand why it's popular with the Japanese adults as they prefer their desserts not too sweet but this place isn't for me. I prefer my pancakes doused in syrup and all things sinful.
Here's CHA CHA POP $8, a ice cream Popsicle collab between @nehnehpopsg and @matchayasg. This stick of goodness is a pairing of matcha and houjicha. Matcha ice cream encased with houjicha and matcha shell, with black molasses, toasted sesame and feuilletine. π΅π¦ Love the overall combination in one. Despite the hefty price tag for a stick of ice cream, I wouldn't mind paying more for something good. #betterthan8dollarsrainbowbagel π

Damn, that lava flow is nasty. π The charcoal toast is good on its own too. However having it together w the light green milk tea filling, felt that this didn't work quite well hence would suggest going for the original toast. Anyway, #meetandmelt be moving to Scape on 17th July. π

Similar to a hot pot experience, the ingredients are freshly steamed using the innovative culinary technique of high-speed steaming. This is also one of the few places in Singapore to enjoy dim sum dishes that are steamed upon order at your table such as liu sha bao.

With 2 types of congee to pick, I prefer the congee w dried scallop and clams while it contains a hint sweetness from the scallop. Being cooked at the bottom, the essence of these ingredients are collected below the steaming plate to cook the accompanying congee. This is comfort food. ππΌ
