This is the place to go if you want a hearty authentic Taiwanese meal to leave you full and satisfied. I tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken Set because I don't like their more ubiquitous Sweet and Sour Pork which has thick chunks of tough fat which tastes like hard rubber when biting into it, which leads to food waste. I thought that the chicken might let me down too, perhaps because there would be bones and too little meat. I was in for an extremely pleasant surprise though because when I tucked into my meal the chicken was PHENOMENAL. Tender succulent chunks of boneless lean meat coated in a thin sticky layer of batter awakened my tastebuds. They were drenched in a deliciously tangy sweet and sour sauce that was neither too cloying or too bland. There were generous with the chicken meat so I enjoyed eating every morsel till I was stuffed. The lu rou fan(braised mince pork rice) was delicious as always with the perfectly 'al dente' rice and the aromatic and savoury braised pork. The side dishes were quite interesting and were a field trip for the senses : a fried seaweed salad with chicken floss which was delightfully savoury, a tiny scoop of japanese potato salad which was sweet and mild and a decadent mini deep fried ball of dough containing crunchy peanut paste in its centre. I finished it all off with a herbal broth included with the set containing a chunk of chicken, leafy greens, jujubes and goji berries. For my beverage, I took my regular favourite, the Rose Oolong tea which cost RM15.90 for two cups and a teapot(Additional cups cost RM3.18) each. The teapots and cups have a lovely tiny shape that lets you savour each sip of tea slowly as you watch the bustle of the restaurant. The Sweet and Sour Chicken Set cost RM28.41 which sounds hefty but it's actually completely worth it for the generous portion. Come here on the early weekdays to avoid the crowd.

I had the Soft Shell Crab Nasi Lemak. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and I like the interior architecture and the TVs installed to entertain customers as they wait for their meals. The meal presentation is also rather good with each component of the meal maintaining their own identity yet remaining cohesive as an integrated whole. The rice had a fragrant aroma of coconut milk and tasted savoury. The fried onions were a nice touch. The soft shell crab was succulent inside while remaining slightly crisp outside and it was really tasty with the sweet mayonnaise-like sauce drizzled on it together with dry chili flakes. The kangkung was soft but not overly wilted and had a fresh vibrant taste. The sambal was supposed to be a petai sambal but since petais were unavailable, it was replaced with a prawn sambal. It was delicious, with lots of spices, onions, prawns and squid combining to form a lovely accompaniment to the rice. IMO the sambal is only very mildly spicy which I kind of like because it allows me to appreciate the entire taste of the nasi lemak more fully instead of having a scalded tongue and lips. The peanuts and ikan bilis were crunchy and delicious and so were the fish crackers. The egg had a lovely golden yolk and tasted like a good hard boiled egg should. Overall a little hefty at RM26.90, but I attribute it to the price of the soft shell crab and the effort and ingredients put into the sambal and rice. 8/10 would recommend if you're looking to try an interesting variation of Nasi Lemak.

The char siu here is like nothing else I've ever tasted and I mean it in the BEST way possible. It's so tender and juicy with literal melt-in-your mouth thin layer of fat underneath the meat 🍖 . Their pork belly was all sold out when I was eating there for dinner but their char siu does not disappoint! The hakka noodles were springy and firm while not being hard and the pork lard sprinkles was a tasty touch. Their roast chicken and fried sui kow(dumplings) are also freaking amazing. The price is really reasonable too and I don't think it was more than RM10 for my dish. 10/10 definitely come here to taste their unique char siu and other meats and you will be hooked.

I was craving for some good ice cream and I realised that Inside Scoop has an outlet near my house. I dropped by and splurged on a double scoop on a waffle cone. I picked these two flavours for different reasons. First flavour I chose is the 'Unicorn' which is a pastel blue and pink ice cream peppered with sprinkles. I chose this because it was a really hyped flavour and because I love ice creams with interesting bright unnatural colours. Surprisingly, the blue in this ice cream comes from a completely natural dye derived from the blue pea flower! The blue ice cream is vanilla flavoured while the pink ice cream is raspberry flavoured. The second flavour is Valhorna chocolate and it is a premium flavour I had to add RM1.90 to, to enjoy. I was really craving for a rich chocolate ice cream and that's why I chose this flavour. Anyway let's go to the taste test. The Unicorn had a very balanced, enjoyable taste that wasn't artifical-tasting at all. I could taste a faint vanilla mingling with a tangy fruity raspberry flavour that was very pleasant and not cloying. The chocolate was amazing. It was very rich and full of the aroma of high quality chocolate. It went very well with the chocolate waffle cone I chose. The price is pretty hefty though as this entire ice cream is RM17.40(It's RM8.00 for a single scoop in a cup). This was a mamak joint near the HELP University Subang 2 Campus and my family and I tried it out. I haven't eaten roti in a long time so I ordered a roti sardin and a tosai telur bawang. I also ordered a mee goreng. The roti sardin was hot and fresh and filled with a good amount of spicy sardine chunks. The roti was really tasty and savoury and the dhal and curry was good as well. Next was the mee goreng which is a little wetter compared to others but it wasn't bad. Finally there is the tosai telur bawang which was crispy on the outside and soft and filled with egg and onions inside. Not bad for a corner mamak stall. My mum and brother had their briyani but it was only so-so. 7/10 would recommend only if you are eating roti/capati/tosai. This was a long awaited treat. Upon opening this bread, my nose is filled with the intense fragrant aroma of lychees and roses. I kept smelling its perfume for a while until I finally decided to put it into my mouth. The bread is chewy and savoury with a delightfully crispy, firm crust and this mingled with the sweetness of the lychee pieces and the aroma of the rose petals embedded within. There were some walnuts inside which added a welcome crunch and a slightly nutty taste to this bread which I loved. The price of this is pretty hefty at RM21.00 per loaf. I haven't had pasembur in a while so I got my fix at this food truck in SS2. It was around 3pm so their rojak sotong was sold out. I ended up with a rojak biasa and I have to say that this isn't bad at all. The veggies are fresh and the spiced crullers tasted delicious. There was also a tasty hard boiled egg in the rojak as well. The kuah kacang or the peanut gravy was an enticing deep red colour and I was salivating when I poured it over the rojak. It tasted super good 😊 Cost is around RM4.50 which is worth it. 9/10 would recommend if you want a cheap rojak fix. Seriously my family's new favourite Thai restaurant in PJ/KL. #nofilterneeded Let's begin with the first dish, the seafood tom yam. The tom yam wasn't too piquant, but was delightfully clear and delicious without the cloying sourness. The seafood was plenty for two people and I loved the addition of mussels to the mix. I do wish they added more prawns and mussels so the serving is more appropriate for 3-4 people. Next is the Jasmine rice which is fragrant and perfectly fluffy and I loved the addition of fried onions as a garnish. After that was the papaya salad with luncheon meat which was delightfully tasty with the sweet, sour and savoury tastes mingling well with each other. There were cherry tomatoes and peanuts added to it which added a welcome crunch to the dish. The Thai Hou Sek platter which consisted of Thai fishcakes, a betel leaf dish and Pandan chicken was amazing. The betel leaf dish made me skeptical at first but it was a tasty experience with the complex flavours exploding in my mouth. The pandan chicken was large, tender and juicy and the fishcakes were wonderfully plump and spiced well. The last dish was the green curry with pork and pumpkin which left us impressed. There was a generous amount of pork in the dish and the pumpkin enhanced the creamy sweetness of the curry. All in all, a phenomenal experience. The bread was nice and soft and peppered with fresh tasty walnuts which added a savoury crunch. The pumpkin filling was deliciously rich and decadent, but not cloying and it is an absolute joy to devour. It was fresh and smelled wonderful. This is one of their crusty breads and I've been craving crusty breads lately. The crust is delightfully hard and crusty but it was easy to cut into. Digging in, I loved the chewiness of the bread and how it tastes not too dry and not too moist. There are many cherries in this bread which are sourish sweet but they are very pleasant next to the savoury saltiness of the bread.
