I am officially a @fynnssg fan. Both the grilled Spanish octopus ($17) and Prawn Scampi ($12.50) had me at hello with their deliciously smoky char. 😍 The meatless pan-fried Gnocchi ($23) was good and just a sprinkle of salt away from amazing, while the Chocolate Semifredo ($13) was such an intriguing, complex dessert. #workdinners #lovewhatido #burpple #girltalk #goodfood #yummyfood
The guacamole topping is well-seasoned and full on flavour, and the cashew mayonnaise is just killer. I only wish it weren't such a far trek to the west!
I'll drive 30 minutes from east to west just to eat this Nonya-inspired Assam Fish Rice Bowl ($12.90) - I'm even confident the picky bibiks in my family would approve of the zingy, appetising sauce that packs a punch of heat. So good.
It's hard to fathom why this air-conditioned space in Bedok was near empty on a Sunday evening. The service is efficient and earnest, and the honest cooking is a level up from regular coffeeshop western food stalls. I would visit often if I stayed in the area to eat this generous piece of perfectly pan-fried salmon slicked in tangy hollandaise - it's seriously a steal at $9.90.
Chilli fiends like me would love how REV peppers several of their dishes with chilli padi, like in their Signature Prawn and Crayfish Pasta ($19.90). It's delicate and creamy, with punchy heat from the chilli. The dealcoholised Halal wine ($8.90/glass) unfortunately tasted very watered down. I'll recommend going for the nitro coffee instead.
I could barely finish half on my own, but it is delicious. A bit of sweet and a lot of savoury, with perfectly cooked eggs, avocado, tomatoes and chargrilled asparagus. 👍🏼 #brunch #burpplesg #burpple #burpplesgmeatlessmon #foodspotting #sgfoodie #foodie #eatwell #vegetarian #meatlessmonday
Here's the inspired Salmon Yu-Sheng Bowl (usually $20, but $18 for lunch with a complimentary coffee or tea). Apart from the obligatory wobbly egg many rice bowls sport these days, we like the plump cuts of marinated salmon, the golden crackers and, for me, the tiny nest of fried ginger. #lunch #burpple #burpplesg #ricebowl #salmon #eatwell #nourish #饭桶 #foodspotting #sgeats #foodie
Not blown away by the much talked about dishes, but really liked some underrated ones like this girly, fruity dessert with pickled melon rind. #lunch #burpple #burpplesg #partyinmymouth #wheretoeatsg #onmytable #eatoutsg #foodspotting

P.s. Charred broccoli + pesto is one of my favourite meatless combinations ever. #dancingegg #brunch #funfood #vegetarian #katong #sgfoodie #nourish #eatwell #meatless #burpple
I've read some not so great reviews prior to my visit, so I was pleasantly surprised that this pan of comforting toppoki ($13.90 per person with choice of chicken sausage, sliced beef, cheese, mushrooms or mussels; min 2 pax) at Mukshidonna actually reminded of my favourite in Seoul's Sindangdong Tteokbokki Town. Don't be in a hurry to gobble everything up - the meal gets increasingly tasty as the broth boils down to a thicker, punchy sauce that coats the rice cakes. Once you've slurped up everything, opt for the extra fried rice with cheese ($7), which is cooked in the same pan to soak up all the remaining sauce. Flecked with seaweed and boasting very umami flavours, it was for us the best and happiest ending to a very fulfilling meal.
Perfect for Meatless Mondays, this Buddha bowl is nourishing, tasty and great for eat clean enthusiasts! Sweet potato cubes, quinoa, spiced chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, rocket, avocado-tofu mash and beetroot hummus all come together for a yummy lunch. Love that it's gluten-free too!
