We made a booking for this place but still ended up queueing for 30 mins because the place was popping off.
The kimbap here is legit. We got the chicken one ($10) and was really impressed. Will be back!
Wanton mee here made with a 70-year-old recipe. Food is decent but noodles had that alkaline taste which kinda affected the taste of the noodles. But texture was good. Also really like the wantons, very meaty and juicy.
Only came here for the XLB, left with their beef brisket noodles and red bean pancake. Food is very authentic and exceeded my expectations and what made the experience better was the owners — a very humble couple who hail from China.
Definitely not DTF standard but still decent for the price. Could do with more soup tho.

Red bean pancake taste very nostalgic. Could be crispier, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

Noodles were Al dente even though I spent some time taking photos and the beef was extremely tender and juicy, did not hurt my teeth when I chewed on them.
The donburi here is meh but the udon is really good. It’s all handmade so you get that springy, chewy texture. Recommend getting the cold udon over the warm udon as the noodle texture is way better.

Got the honey chrysanthemum with cacao nibs, really refreshing flavour and wasn’t too sweet. The cafe vibes were great too, great place to chill
This was $68 before GST and the use of entertainer. Sashimi was fresh, really enjoyed this.
This is unfortunately the worst beef don I’ve had to date. It used Australian Wagyu beef and costs $68.80. For such a premium price, I expect the beef to be cooked properly but it was not. Some cuts were cooked medium and others were well done. The meat was also along the grain which resulted in a very tough, rubbery texture that made it extremely hard to chew. I’ve had beef made from cheaper cuts that tasted better than this. Rice was also on the stale side. To be very blunt, I’d not pay more than $5 for this, let alone $68.80.
This was $48 and while it was decent lamb, it wasn’t $48 lamb. I was also expecting a bigger portion size since there weren’t any accompanying carbs but was surprised with how small the ribs were. A pity, these were cooked well.
Beautifully presented dish that comes with a massive lobster. But considering that you can get laksa at a hawker centre for $5, this price tag on this isn’t exactly justifiable despite the premium ingredient. It’s delicious and I’d love to eat it again but I’d only be willing to fork out the one-for-one price.
