$3 per plate, either black or white, the “cakes” are small bits, soft and easy to bite, while it has a very light layer of crisp on the outside! Especially love the white one which is lighter and lets you taste the caipoh (菜圃, Chinese pickled cabbage)~ goes really well with the abundance of spring onion! Will definitely want to come back for more! Expect a little wait during lunch on a weekend~

A great find at Commonwealth Crescent Market, a small bowl of happiness, these traditional Chinese desserts are tended by an old granny, and they don’t cost much! :’) Back to the good old days (like for me, the 90’s rocks) when things are all cheap and good!

Tasty bbq pork with Vietnamese rice noodles ($7.50)! I asked for a little more basil, mixing with the soup and garlic chili sauce, it makes the dish more wholesome. Somehow it reminds me of Hakka leicha... anyways didn’t really fancy its fried spring rolls within though...

$28; and on a one-for-one lunch time special, get another for free! I like the spinach cream that isn’t as creamy (though the pict in the menu looks much like its aglio-olio). Unfortunately the spaghetti is a little over-boiled, and the king prawn a little over-grilled. Otherwise taste-wise is good!

Decent coffee, decent baked salmon, decent soba, with decent settings that remind me of Ch5’s Tanglin. A quiet place to chill especially if you are living in Everton/ Spottiswoode!

In return for a kind gesture of giving up my table to a family with 2 babies who needed it for parking their pram, I was given a little cake 🤗 I would say this place sells decent cakes! Have a bite and it brings all your worries out of the window; just enjoy your little afternoon me-time here, the little oasis!

$5 contains fried and boiled wantons, char siew, soya chicken and added a little mushrooms. I prefer adding $1 for some kailan! Decent wanton mee, meat goes really well with their homemade chili sauce (mixed into the sauce)!

One of the best places for Halal Northern Indian Food, we spent about $50 in all here for: Naan (Kashmiri, Butter and Garlic) [enjoyed the Kashmiri the most]; Cottage Cheese Spinach [Palak Paneer, reminds me of Nepal somehow]; Butter Chicken Masala [tandoori chicken was used]; Mutton Do Piazza [my fav out of the 3, sweet and flavourful, need more mini green chili!]; Aloo Gobi [curry cauliflower done to perfection] and Iced Neslo [Nescafe+Milo]! Definitely must try stuff other than satay and roti if you are there!

$15++ ($9.90++ for lunch). This hearty bowl of goodness. Fresh salad greens, black beans, salsa, corn, guacamole and roast chicken cubes! Flavourful salad and leaves you all filled and satisfied after the meal! Though on the pricey side, service level could be improved further with more attentive staff... 💪🏼

$1.40 for this cup of awesomeness, frothy condensed milk solution, with espresso nanyang kopi; made just like angmoh’s cappuccino but with nanyang ingredients! Location: Telok Blangah Crescent Hawker Centre #01-91.

I think “Mixian” is another term for thick beehoon. Man, this is the best ever Hong Kong style café (cha caan teng\茶餐厅) I’ve ever been to! Pork Cartilage was cooked to perfection, it’s almost like konjac jelly, firm but disintegrates rapidly upon chewing, a wonderful experience! They had not disappoint the masters from Kagoshima! 100% worth it!

$16. Love banana desserts especially if it’s chocolate and banana, but the chocolate sauce and honey for this particular French Toast didn’t quite go as expected (not so yummy). Fruits seem less ripen and adds a little tingle of off-sourness. The protagonist Toast was quite “meh”. Maybe they could beef up the food quality here a little...
