Can’t decide on coffee or tea? How about both?? 😉 This drink is one part matcha, one part milk and one part espresso (coffee)! Tastewise, it had a very interesting blend. At first sip, you’ll taste the coffee and there after the fragrance and bitterness of the matcha hits your tastebuds and leaves you with a bitter aftertaste of both the coffee and matcha. Also noteworthy is that this cafe has very nice industrial themed decor and has friendly staffs 😊

Having set up over 20 stores across Asia, this award-winning ramen chain from Tokyo has finally made its way to our shores. Pop into its Suntec city location for a bowl of steaming, soul warming ramen. Keep it simple with the Original King ($13.90), which sees thin, straight noodles swimming in creamy and rich tonkotsu broth; add a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg for $2. Burpplers with heavier palates may prefer the Black King ($15.90). The noodles come with the signature 'black ball' made from minced pork, black sesame and special spices. Stir it into the already thick broth for extra flavour, but bear in mind that its intensity also means this is unlikey to be a soup that'll have you drinking up every last drop. Pro-tip: Make sure you're not pressed for time when you visit — there is often a queue, especially during peak meal times.
Avg Price: $15 per person

Telok Ayer's popular smokehouse Meatsmith has ventured into Little India with its second outlet, and head chef Andrew Baldus presents a menu of American barbecue accented with Indian spices, rubs and sauces. In short, expect seriously delicious American-Indian fusion food. Take Burppler Veronica Phua's cue and start with the Picklebacks ($5), which sees India's Amrut single malt whisky chased down with housemade jalapeno pickle juice, and then work your way through stellar snacks like Pulled Pork Samosas, Currywurst Sausages and Butter Chicken Hot Pockets ($7-$8 each). That should prime you well for their Stuffed Suckling Pig ($48), stuffed with a nasi biryani stuffing that mixes together lots of dried fruit and nuts to elevate the sweetness of the pork, as well as their flawless Tandoori Chicken ($18), which will impress with its flavourful marinade and incredibly moist meat. Pair the meats with an order of Gunpowder Potatoes ($6), where spot-on seasoning, crisp edges and curry leaves come together in addictive harmony. Wash everything down with tall glasses of Nimbu Pani ($4, free flow), a cumin-kissed Indian lemonade that's super refreshing and palate-cleansing.
Avg price: $40

Wicked Garlic is a madly popular place among the office crowd at CBD. I always walk past their outlet at International Plaza and it was always packed. They've now owned a new outlet on the 5th floor of Cineleisure, a corner unit with full ceiling to floors windows that filled the place with plenty of natural light.
🔸
Food wise, the standard is as good as, or should I say better than, at the CBD because (pssst... the head chef is now based here at Cineleisure). Pictured are:
* Sphagetti Aglio Olio with Prawns ($14)
* Grilled Prawn Pizza ($24)
* Curry Prawn Risotto ($23)
* Four-Cheese Tortellini with Truffle ($22)
* Gnocchi with Truffle Cream Sauce ($22)
* Sphagetti Marinara Alla Cartoccio ($19)
* Capuccino ($3.70).

This was taken during a tasting invited by Stanley the owner

At first I thought it was all hype and I didn't want to succumb to it, but after trying it I must admit this is really good.

I like the buttery and crispy bread as much as the warm chewy cheese within. We've tried all three flavors - original, chocolate and charcoal, and our favorite is the chocolate! My advice to you is to eat it as soon as it's served to you, warm. If you must Instagram their cheese toast, wait for the launch of two new flavours, one of which is matcha. That cheese matcha toast is what I'm very excited to see!

If you love cheese, I can't recommend this dish enough. They definitely don't scrimp on the cheese here, and every bit of the pasta was coated generously with the goodness. I was surprised that they used 4 types of cheeses (parmesan, mozzarella, mild cheddar and feta cheese) because all of them complemented each other perfectly well. I only wished more of the mushrooms was served but flavour wise, I thorougly enjoyed it.

Do not forget to order this Lamb Tartare with Mustard Ice-cream when you are here! Made of finely chopped lamb and accompanied by yolk cream and smoked olive oil, this dish had a velvet creaminess that was quite memorable 👌 more on gninethree.com

Dinner / 10 Jan 2018: the highlight of the dish is the broth - it’s like a seafood like laksa soup (think coconut, seafood, lemon grass). The soup is so addictive that we drench our beef don with it (and they went well together!)

I am so going back for this and I'm not sharing it! 🤣

Thank you Deborah, @hanarestaurantsg and @eatwithroy for the invite.

@bochinchesg has the juiciest steaks ever I've ever had in Singapore; imagine juice flowing out with every cut you make! 😲

The steak I had is a 180g Argentinean Ribeye that is part of their daily lunch prix fixe ($29++ for 2-course and $35++ for 3-course; menu changes every week or so - check their Ig page to know what's available!). It is considered the specialty dish of the restaurant and I do say it's pretty impressive and is perhaps the nicest one I've had so far in my homeland. However, I can't make much fair judgement as I have not had much steaks here.

You get to choose chips or salad on the side and I went for the former. There's garlic on the chips and chimchurri mayo for dipping but each wedge is so darn flavourful on their own I personally feel the dip ruins it.

So be it the festive mood or just a mad craving, do check out boCHINche for a good steak and an overall pleasant meal. Indeed, it's pricey but for the quality you get I personally think it's worth the price!

Aaaand on that note, The Fussy Foodie wishes everyone a very blessed Merry Christmas! 🌟

For something a little different and for a pinch of Argentinean feel, head to boCHINche, located right above Common Man Coffee Roasters. Start off with the Provoleta ($17), a sizzling dish of salty, gooey cheese balanced out with glorious honey and topped with almonds to provide crunch. With Pan and Manceta (Peurto Rican breads, $7) to go along, this is a winning dish that should be shared. The classic pairing of Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Eggs ($24) is elevated here by dill cream cheese slathered beneath. End on a sweet note with their popular Milk Cake ($14) — made with three types of milk and also soaked in milk, it is a dessert so delicate on the palate, and pairs excellently with passionfruit sorbet.
