It's called Martabak Manis. Manis means sweet. This is special and rarely seen in Singapore. It originates from Indonesia and shares many similarities with our Min Chiang Kueh and Malaysia's Apam Balik. Yet, if you look at the Flavours that usually go into the Indonesian Version, you will understand why it has 'Manis' in the name. We had the cheese topping. Not bad I'd say, especially if you're like me, who likes the thick and fluffy classics. If you're an Indonesian or have tried the ones in Indo, you will find it very much less sweeter here. The price also comes off as a tad expensive. Still worth a try! 😋

Like many things, I jump straight into it and only remember taking a snapshot after taking a bite (or 3!) out of it. Discovered this place on FB last night and realised it's so near my office! I have tried the Kopitiam versions of these and I will say that the ones PanTree serve have slightly thicker crust which stays crispy. The key here is to eat it right off the griddle. Take the first bite not more than 30s off it. Any more and it just doesn't do it any justice. It's def encouraging to see the revitalisation of our local heritage so do support! #burpple
Not in the most glorious way possible (via Ubereats) but I do appreciate the Burger Manual. It seats in a special 2-part box that sets the buns apart, only waiting for the lucky person (me in this case) to assemble it together. The meat was tender and juicy, w just the right amount of doneness. The buns were unlike anything I have seen, fluffy on the inside while still managing to look sleek.
