It was a path that one took that one cannot just go back anymore. The pork slices were the most tender one I had ever ate, cooked to the optimal temperature, it was incredibly easy to eat. With the free flow of chili available, one is able to dip the pork into the sauce as much as he or she wants. Bonus item was the braised pork rice which my fellow intern recommended. In my opinion it was comparable to those that I had ate in Taiwan and was definitely good. The fatty pork given was sufficient and not overwhelming. At $5.80, it is a little pricey, but it is the quality that makes up for it!

This might look messy but it was really delicious. The chicken wings were what kept the queue going on non stop! They were tender, juicy and well marinated and cooked to the perfect temperature. Together with the rarely found achar-achar and cauliflower, this lunch was both homely and pleasing to eat!

Hidden in the back alley was this bangkok-ish feel Thai restaurant that makes one feel that he or she is back into the streets of Bangkok eating road side food, giving zero concern about hygiene and what so ever and have a good time just chit chatting and enjoying the ambience. Soup was decent, seafood was okay, what was worth mentioning that despite it being not seemingly hygienic, by eating their prawns one can tell that they bothered to clean it. Although it is not of top quality, but the entire dining experience makes one feel like being back in the land of smiles again! (it's Korat Thai Food @dickson road)

Similar to Singapore's otah, I had assumed that it would be very spicy. However, this dish had many surprises! It came in a real coconut husk, one could really savor the coconut juices with every spoon! There were also fresh shrimps and fish slices found within the sea of scrambled-egg-ish otak! The most surprising of all was that there were even coconut slices in it and it made the entire dish even more refreshing! In my opinion this dish is what would people deem as a fusion food done right!

All my life I had only ate the Chinese version of lala bee hoon and often found them too wet to my liking. This however managed to balance the wetness of the dish very well! Even towards finishing the dish the bee hoon was still spongy and chewy and did not have "soaked" taste to it. La la was fresh and there were generous amount of it given! Remember to mix it well before eating it to enjoy the full flavor of the dish!

Having tried many different kinds of Tom Yam Soup in Singapore, this one managed to stand out from the others through its unique usage of coconut The soup was creamy, yet sweet and spicy at the same time! Along with the standard mix of seafood, there were also slices of coconut which went surprisingly well with the soup! Despite the spiciness of the soup, the slices of coconut were able to bring about a refreshing taste to the tastebuds and it was interesting to have something to crunch on while drinking the soup! Spicy Thai-Thai cafe serves North Eastern Thai food rather than those usual bangkok-ish kind, it is strongly recommended to anyone who wants a decent, spicy and different kind of Tom Yam Soup in Singapore!

Nicely rearranged by another tastemaker @zippyzipeng, making this wonderful dish even more good looking! Personally I found the crab meat to be above average and pretty fresh, it was also strangely sweet and the black pepper taste was more focused and concentrated on the vermicelli rather than the crab itself! I have no complains though! Ate lots of the vermicelli instead of the crab! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Situated in the old Tiong Bahru estate, was this ice cream parlor that offers up to 20 flavors of ice cream including exotic ones such as, Thai earl grey, white rabbit candy, white truffle, ferrero rocher, mao shan wang durian, lemon & Parma ham, lemon mint crush, bailey's and "after eight's" mint chocolate and many more. Chocolate mint, baileys and white rabbit candy were ordered and my personal favorite was the chocolate mint as it did not have the much feared toothpaste taste and the chocolate bits that lie within the ice cream was able to release small bursts of chocolate sweetness with each bite! The white rabbit candy ice cream was able to replicate the taste of the original candy itself and yet not making it too sweet as an ice cream! The Bailey's ice cream was although not anything exotic, but it was well balanced and did not a strong alcoholic taste to it! Each scoop costs $3.80 ($4.20 for premium ones) and don't be shy to ask the staff or owners to try out the different flavors as they are a friendly bunch of people!

Although incredibly pricey for the Yong tau foo category, the food was really good! Big handmade fishballs, handmade ngoh hiongs, meatballs. The noodles were so good that it could really stand out as a dish on its own! The sauces were above average and the soup was in the acceptable sweet range! Don't say I never warn, use a $10 note to pay in case of a nasty surprise!

A close friend of mine who loves Japanese food eats at this restaurant situated in shangri la hotel monthly for their seasonal hiru Kaiseki that comes with: appetizer, soup, sashimi, simmered dish, grilled fish, a main course and a desert at $65 before taxes. It will burn a great hole in anyone's pocket but it is of top notch quality. The highlight of the meal was that somehow foie gra and tomatoes were often infused into the dishes which makes the whole taste much different from the normal Japanese food fare. Would definitely eat here again when my pockets are big enough to burn this hole.

Was missing hk a little, the menu said that it was the first to bring in hk style wonton mee but oh well I was quite disappointed. Soup was saltier than usual and although there were 4 wontons, each only had a single shrimp and again it was too salty. The only positive point about the dish was the noodles which were almost the same as the one in HK

After an evening swim, there was a sudden craving for some cantonese porridge, hence went to the classic sin Heng kee which I had ate for over 10 years. Although the standards have dropped over the years, it is still retains the tasty minced pork that I loved since young. Normally I will order ่‚‰็ขŽ็ฒฅ(this one)๏ผŒwhich isn't on the menu, when I have the feel for something different, I will order the century egg version which is pretty tasty too! The fried shallots along with its cooked to the right temperature porridge, was what kept me coming back again and again! Opened from 7am to 930pm!
