Wishlisted this place after I saw Burpple KL's feature and I gotta say, the chapati's just as good as I expected – soft, slightly blistered and pleasantly chewy! Wish we could eat more than one so I could've mopped up the savoury mutton curry and dhal. So comforting and satisfying!
Chapati is a southern Indian flatbread made from whole wheat flour, making it one of the healthiest breads you can eat. Chapati is usually served with a selection of curries, including dhal.

The moonlike chapati served here was somehow still fluffy, which is quite hard to achieve for a bread that essentially uses little to no fat. Most chapati will have that distinct cardboard like texture, but not at Tiger Jit's. The curries served was a rich dhal, along with chickpea masala and one of their standouts, their mutton curry. The chickpea was crunchy and savoury, while the mutton had an intense curry flavour to it. Piquant perfection.

Absolutely adore this neighbourhood breakfast spot, where locals make a beeline for their morning meal. Their chapati's one of those soft, delicious creations that makes me wonder why I never used to like the bread (I loveeee it now). It's extra special if you watch them make it by the flat-top stove, using their homemade ghee.
But more on food, the dhal sauce that comes with chapati presents a rather greasy outlook, almost as if it's been mixed with other curries, and perhaps why it's so flavour-packed. Their mutton curry also deserves an order for a punchier protein, whereas the chickpeas are cooked just right for enough crunch to accompany your soft chapati.
It's easy to spot Tiger Jit Singh from the conspicuous CAPATI sign that beckons from the outside. The humble stall promises comforting nourishment in warm pieces of freshly flipped Chapati (RM1.50), described in the words of Tastemaker Brian Leow as "paper-thin yet soft and fluffy". Retaining most of his father, Tiger Jit Singh's ways, shop owner Bobby takes pride in their homemade ghee and top-notch atta (whole wheat flour), which are used to make the chapati. Visit in the mornings when it's a little cooler, and the chapati coupled with light, flavourful dhal will be pure satisfaction. Pro tip: Refrain from asking for cutleries. Bobby will stop at nothing to convince you that chapati must be eaten with your hands!

Absolutely loved the chapati at this old school stall along Jalan San Peng. Gem!
