The Wanton Mee (WTM) at Lu Ge was surprisingly good!
The sauce was rich, flavorful, and had a nice spicy kick, while the wantons were delicious and well-prepared.
What stood out even more was the scene at dinner time: Chong Boon Market was mostly quiet, with only a few stalls open. Despite the quiet atmosphere, Lu Ge had a steady queue, which speaks volumes about its popularity and quality.
While walking through NEWEST’s many food establishments in search of dinner, I stumbled upon Flyboy YTF. The place was surprisingly crowded, which caught my attention—especially since the mall was pretty quiet on a weekday night. I took it as a good sign and decided to give it a try.
I ordered the *Signature Set A YTF*. All their Yong Tau Foo items are handmade, and I was particularly impressed by the fried meatball and tofu with meat stuffing—they were absolutely delicious!
Their signature homemade chilli was also a standout, adding a perfect kick to the meal.
- Beef Patties
- Sliced Cheese
- Onions
- Lettuce
- Brown Swiss shrooms
- Spicy Mayo
The Only Burger is a Halal Western food stall located within *Happy Hawkers* at Tampines Avenue 9.
The fries and chicken tenders were fried to perfection, with no sogginess in sight. The chicken tenders, in particular, were consistently crunchy and satisfying.
But the real star of the show was the burgers. The beef patties were incredibly flavorful, perfectly marinated, and grilled to juicy perfection.
Every bite was an explosion of deliciousness.
I’ll definitely be returning for more!
Highly recommended by my wife’s easties colleagues
Ba Shu was completely full on a weekday night at 8 PM, which is a testament to its popularity.
The standout dish for me was the *La Zi Ji* (spicy fried chicken). Unlike other places that tend to overcook it, leaving the chicken dry and tough, Ba Shu nailed it perfectly.
Each piece was fried to golden perfection—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and almost reminiscent of bite-sized karaage. Absolutely delicious.
Highly recommended by my wife’s Eastie colleagues!

The green pepper fish slices were absolutely delicious & incredibly satisfying. The soup was flavorful without being overly spicy, making it enjoyable for those who prefer milder heat. The fish itself was silky smooth, tender, and was definitely fresh.
A fantastic dining experience overall and Will definitely return.
Let me know if you'd like further tweaks!
The Thai food here is quite good.
The Thai drunken noodles were excellent, and the Thai grilled chicken was surprisingly delicious—definitely a highlight.
As for the basil pork rice and fried chicken wings, they were decent but didn’t stand out as anything particularly special.
Char Siew + Sio Bak Rice set @$.9.20++
The reason why we go to Char, to eat their Char Siew.
Char Siew very Tender will very good fat/Meat Ratio. The sauce was flavourful.
Sio Bak skin definitely crispy but the meat a bit dry.
The chilli provided was surprisingly good, spicy too.
Char is now located at 454 Race Course Road.

Other then their signature Char Siew, this Roasted Duck is rather not bad.
Skin was slightly crispy and the meat was tender and not dry whatsoever.
Sambal Stingray for $16 in the heart of orchard road? 1 please.
Not bad also, and Stingray meat was tender and easily slides off the bones. Generous amount of sambal.
This Nasi Padang not bad. Like that $9 only.
1 whole chicken leg
1 bergedil
Vegetable + quail eggs
Damn lots of variety of food to choose from and all look so gooooooodddddd
My Favourite Chilli Crab of all time.
Chin Huat has been around here for a long time. I have been eating here on a few special occasions since the late 90s.
Consistently awesome. Their chilli crab sauce is Thick, flavourful, tomato-ey and slightly spicy as well. So good until I dapao back the leftover sauce to drink it without being judged.
The crab behoon was good as well, the bee hoon has a strong Wok hei.
And the steamed fish was cooked to perfection, meat so soft and tasted very fresh.
Crabs, fish & other seafood are all picked in front of you at their live seafood tank area. So u confirm know your seafood is fresh. Crabs are weighted for you in your presences. So no alibaba.
Finished off my 2024 CDC vouchers here on 31st Dec.
