Just a simple warm breakfast before I start Christmas shopping on a rainy off day. :) Got a mocha and a mushroom & mushroom quiche. I love the quiche! I like the crunchy crust and the cheesy eggy mushroom & egg feeling. The mocha was more like hot chocolate than coffee, although it's quite nice if you drink it as a hot chocolate. Haha. But they actually gave me another cup when I mentioned that. So thumbs up 👍 for good service!
Juicy medium rare steak topped with rocket leaves and slices of parmesan cheese. Warning: The steak has a bit strong hint of garlic. Delicious!

2nd stop: Sin Huat Eating House (famous for duck rice, zi char and turtle soup)
When we first arrived, the place looked closed. Thankful that the uncle was only hiding behind the counter. .

Just by pouring the hot water into the coffee powder, the smell was incredible. The smell itself was able to waken my spirit. The toast he used was common but the way he grilled it was special. How often you see a charcoal grilled toast in Singapore??? Next time I would prefer to go in the afternoon, other stalls were then opened. .

How often do you get to see this in Singapore nowadays? It is slowly becoming a lost trade and we must preserve its heritage now for the future generations. If you happen to be around the Bedok vicinity, do drop by the Bedok North 216 market to have a try at this old school snack.
NEW cafe spotted - opened by former DJ Daniel Ong and his wife, former Ms Singapore Universe, Jaime Teo, owner of Twelve Cupcakes and Dulce & Sucre. This 4 days old cafe served crispy pork belly with meat that is crispy and crunchy. Love the fats that melts in the mouth and would appreciate if there is more fats!!

and boy am i willing to die 2 times here with their black gold at the pretty new kid on the block, 7 months old "Char". almost like the famous KL 玻璃叉烧,but better because while it melts in your mouth, one still get to have some meat fibers here which lends a bite to otherwise just a gluey texture. the caramelized burnt ends were awfully decadent but so lovingly enjoyed together with the uber sweetness sauce that was spot-on and not cloyingly sweet. worthy to mention was their roast pork which was heavenly good too! the meats here really game-changer i tell you. i don't usually say this but this is really quite a die-die-must-go place if you want quality char siew
head to lutong pinoy at lucky plaza if you develop a carnal craving for swine suddenly - very oily heaven of minced pork on hotplate, fatty fatty big cuts of roast pork, wth even the braised mixed vege is stirred in roast pork! carbo alert: hotplate minced pork also known as sizzling sisig is a major rice-thief. one bowl of rice never enough! rightfully so, if New York Times journalist Ligaya Mishan dubbed this filipino dish, sisig as arguably the greatest pork dish in the world.
So many locals patiently waiting for their turn. After I took a bite, I understood why. There must be hundreds of bahn mi stalls and only a few of them had Q.
The crispy loaf with the savory ham. Slightly more expensive than the rest of the bahn mi but their ingredients were much better. Generous with the stuffing and ever fresh loaf!
Banh Mi Huynh Hoa (Known as “lesbian banh mi” opened by two ladies)
26 Le Thi Rieng Street, District 1. ***if they change to real meat instead of using ham, some one will definitely love it.
Even with the sign board, it still seem so hidden.
No wonder @legalnomads said that this is one of the best in town. The soothing sweetness from the broth was just so comforting. Their sliced beef was so tender that I hardly need to chew.
