Romantic setting with attentive and prompt service staff but food was pretty much below expectation. For starters, I opted for saint-jacques ($28) which was pan roasted Hokkaido scallop. It was very lovely done, the freshness and flavor of scallops were very well brought out. (Also maybe because the appetizer were so well done, my expectations for the main course went up as well.....) For the mains, I tried vivaneau ($34), pan seared red snapper, nothing really fantastic and the fish was kinda overdone (hmmm). My partner tried the canard ($35) - Roasted dark breast with juniper berries sweet-sour sauce, I kinda like the sauce, really refreshing and goes well with the soft meat. For desserts, terrine de chocolat ($18) caught my eye as soon as I flip to the page; roasted chocolate soil with pistachio, dark & white chocolate & raspberry coulis. But sad to say, the desserts fail to impress as well - didn't even manage to get me through it half way.... But I could see that the restaurant were pretty popular with Caucasians and office people even on a Tuesday night, maybe I just couldn't accustom to it. But I won't see myself returning to it soon.
Price of cake range from $8.5-$10 exclusive of service charge and gst (even for take aways) total damage for these cakes was $44.40! :-) Lovely place to go for tea and to catch up with friends!
The current hype of yogurt ice cream 😌 for the price that was paid, the serving portion is definitely a lot more than most yogurt ice cream outside. $6.9 with 3 fruit toppings, a crunch (from which you can choose from cereals/ Oreo etc), and a sauce (I had hazelnut 😌)
Pandan chicken (4 for $6), mango salad ($5), tomyum seafood soup ($6), pineapple fried rice ($6), Thai milk tea ($3), mango sticky rice ($5). There's no GST nor svc charge. The food were generally nice as well 😌😌 no complaints!
Pandan ice cream waffles with Gula Melaka ($8.9) - the waffles were crispy and full of eggy fragrance, the Gula Melaka sauce that was just the right amount of sweetness went well with the waffles. The flavor of the pandan ice cream however, was very subtle and it didn't quite work for me, tasted a little weird after a while.
Smoked sawdust pudding ($5) - I LOVE THIS!!! The pudding was light and tasted a lot like milk, the crumbs that came along with it was soft and airy 😌👍
Crab meat angel hair pasta - it may not taste out of the world but for 14.9 you get real crab meat (and occasionally biting into tiny crab shells - don't be mistaken, I'm not complaining because I don't have to dirty my hands at all 😌😌). Flavored with parsley, tomato and bell peppers, I feel healthy eating this! Unlike usual affogato ($7), theirs came with raisins and nuts, adding textures to the otherwise boring espresso with ice cream!
20.35$ for a box of 6. I expected better quality than these because it's ANTOINETTE??? 😔😔 the shells were dry and crumbly. Although I must say that the mooncake flavor - traditional Chinese white lotus paste with salted egg yolk is pretty creative. However, sad to say, they didn't really compliment each other.
$5.50 for a cuppa pretty latte. Love the rich nutty blend that they use here!
The first place that comes to mind whenever I'm craving for a cold brew. Tried an ice filter coffee today (mildly sweet and refreshing, super love it) because they still do not have a black cold brew (yet). Went for a granola instead of the usual waffle because I just had macdonald's for breakfast (already regretting my choice 😩😩) did I mention that their service is just amazing? Friendly and attentive. And they don't even have svc charge 😂😂
Steam baked lean pork strips, flavored in citrus spicy apple BBQ sauce on top of tomato, cucumber and pickles sandwiched between two lightly butter toasted buns. Accompanied with fresh greens drizzled in their signature reduced balsamic vinaigrette. ($14.8) Crispy, fluffy churros doused generously with cinnamon and sugar ($8.8) - I prefer these to the highly raved Spanish doughnuts in orchard 😌😌 Latte ($4.2). They don't have gst just svc charge 😉
Had to queue 20-30mins before I was seated down. HK style milk tea ($2.8) and HK style yuan yang ($2.8) was alright. As i could sense a flu coming, I tried a coke with lemon and ginger ($3.5) which just tasted like hot coke.... BBQ twin combo ($16.8) where you could choose from roasted duck, char siew, pork belly and chicken from which we tried the first two, tbh, I have tried better ones from markets/coffee shops (definitely not worth the money!!!! 😡😭😪). HK style French toast ($3) which the staff recommended but it tasted really bland.... I could do better... Really. Braised e-fu noodle ($9.8), decent. Custard crust bun (bo luo bao) ($1.3) - this was good. I like it. Crispy and fragrant with the right amount of butter inside. Steamed sponge cake ($4) - this was good as well, soft and fluffy!! Also tried turnip cake w xo sauce ($5.5), chick claw in black bean sauce ($4), rice roll with BBQ pork ($5) - these wasn't too bad. Honey & Pomelo tea ($2.8), bad, overly sweet even on the first sip.... Total bill came up to $71.85 after svc chg and gst. I would expect more with the amount I paid..... Maybe cause it was dinner time and the restaurant was busy that's why the standard wasn't really there? 😔😔
