The Butter Clam Pot ($14.90) was fresh-tasting. The slurpy white wine garlic butter sauce was a deliciously moreish combo. However, I would prefer if it was of a thicker consistency to pair it with the slices of country bread as the dish seemed like more of a soup.
Expect solid cafe grub at Clovelly and a must-order is certainly their Crab on Crab ($24.90) pasta. It is an entire deep-fried soft-shell crab on top of a small heap of mafaldine, tossed with lip-smacking white wine butter cream sauce, parmesan, parsley and chunks of plump Jumbo crab meat. Just light, clean and sweet-tasting. The handmade pasta was perfectly al dente too.
𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 (3.5⭐️; $18.90) - One for the sweet tooth with caramelised brown sugar brioche paired with caramelised banana, candied pecans, vanilla bean ice cream, and salted caramel. Personally wished for some toning down of sweetness.
@madubakerysg has returned for a limited time only pop up at Clovelly (1-31 August) and you can only imagine how excited we were!
𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐭 (4.5⭐️; $20.90) - Giant sized rendition of Madu’s iconic favourite, loaded with juicy sweet prawns, yuzu mayo, and cheddar cheese, with generous dousing of savory and crunchy salted egg cereal bites.
So creamy and good, with balanced and refreshing salad
𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 (3⭐️; $14.90) - One for the sweet tooth with caramelized banana, mandarin orange, and coconut gelato. Had an oaky depth from the bourbon sabayon but personally found this too sweet for my palette.
𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐮̂𝐥𝐞́𝐞 (3.5⭐️; $9.90) - Classic and creamy with a crisp caramelised top.
