We went for the 5-course set lunch ($38++ min. 2 pax) as recommended by Mr. Kim, co-partner of the restaurant. This dish is the 4th course. Seafood beehoon in superior stock. Soft beehoon immersed in a very rich and creamy broth. Smooth consistency, abit salty but yet had a umami finish as I slurped spoonful after spoonful. Seafood was indeed fresh. I later found out that the base of the broth was from the humble carrot. Who knew, right? This was really good. And just look at the golden yellow color. Yummy to the last drop.

This restaurant is so hidden, smack right in a private residential estate. Not a very big place. Service is very good. If you intend to visit, reservations in advance is highly recommended.

Offerings such as fish and chips, chicken parmigiana, bangers and mash, salads, housemade pastries and cakes, just to name a few. This BBQ ribs had an aromatic marinade and glazed with cranberry sauce. Part smoky which was addictive and part citrussy to tone down the richness. It suited my palate.

This good looking dish, baked flower crab in rock salt, was one of the courses out of the 8-course set lunch. Individual portion size is just like half a crab. I actually put my lunch partner's share on the same plate because plate was too empty. So original look will be just two pieces. The flesh was quite sweet and an aromatic smoky salty mouthfeel that lingered on the palate. I wanted more!

Currently @famoustreasure has a lunch promo. The 8-course set lunch is priced at $45++ for 2 pax (similarly to a 1-for-1 deal) or a 4-course at $25++ for 2 pax. All portions are individual sizes but you will feel full after.

Elderly uncle fries plate by plate upon order. Kway teow perhaps alittle on the dry side. It was, however, nicely fried as the sweet saltyness was well balanced with that dainty tinge of wokheiness. After eating this, it does not leave an oily feel or a cloying finish.

He takes his own sweet time to fry and if patience is not one of your strong suit, it can be alittle agonising to stand and watch his slow fluid movements. @frapasbar 's new menu ignited that inquisitiveness. So here I am trying out the set lunch. My choice was grilled vegetables (no pic) namely zucchini, pumpkins, eggplants, asparagus tossed with pine nuts. I found this too oily which made it abit hard to taste the actual sweetness of the veges. Main was seafood bouillabaise with angel pasta. The pasta was aldente. The broth had a tad sweet seafoody tone. Quite nice actually. I would prefer it with much less oil to avoid it being too cloying.

I come here to one of my favorite haunts to savor a simple plate of roasted duck noodle. No fancy mancy plating. No fancy mancy name to the food. It is simple pleasure to be eating here in a old rundown charming shophouse where time stays still for alittle. Relaxing and stress free. To top it off, one of my best liked aunty who cant speak, always never fails to smile at me whenever I am there. Such hospitable warmth is indeed priceless.

Fried beehoon, a must. Complemented by cabbage, long beans, mock meat and fried black pepper beancurd. I have to say it was good and quite tasty. Not overly oily. The fried beancurd, which was my most liked, came in thin strips with a gentle crisp.

I have always avoided vegetarian foods, as in some places, it came across as too oily and gets too cloying on the palate. Surprisingly, I did enjoy my vegetarian plate.
