Today, let's me bring you into a Taiwanese style hotpot buffet at Zenith Mall in Johor Bahru. For only RM55+ per adult and RM25+ per child, you can enjoy a wide variety of free-flow food and drinks.

The buffet starts with a welcome drink of iced lemon tea, which you can refill with other available drinks. We chose the twin pot, filled with Chinese Herbal Soup and Pumpkin Milk Soup. The Chinese Herbal Soup was balanced, while the Pumpkin Milk Soup was rich and creamy. As times goes by, the soup taste stronger and saltier tho but still a nice soup. All soups, except Mala, are refillable with a common broth.

The meat section offers pork, beef, mutton, and chicken. I recommend the pork belly or pork shoulder, as they provided the best taste among all the options I tried.

You can also help yourself to sections featuring vegetables, noodles, mushrooms, seafood, and processed foods. If you’re still hungry, try the free-flow Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice. It’s delicious, meaty, and savoury, with piping hot rice drenched in a sinful ladle of minced meat that provides a slippery bite and enriches your mouth with full flavour. Sauces and condiments are also available in unlimited quantities.

To conclude your meal, enjoy their desserts, fruits, cakes, and ice cream for a sweet ending.

The service is commendable, providing tissue paper on each table and a small bin attached to the table for easy disposal of trash and shells. Plates are cleared promptly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

(RM 55 per person) We wanted to eat haidilao at level 1 originally :") but then it's quite crowded during friday night after 6 to 7 p.m. :( even though we book the seats in advance on the website already. We did missed the queue on first time and then re-queue :") until we reached there still on the queue ard 8 p.m.?. We walked around the mall until we went to level 2 to explore. My sister did recommended this store at paradigm mall but reviews is not that good. But then we wanted to take last a few mrt and bus back to home so in the end we decided to try their steamboat instead. We choose free flow soup base: chinese herbal soup (taste quite bitter towards the end) and pork bone broth (taste like normal to me?). They also have free flow variety of beverages and dessert from ice cream. Good alternative if you really want to eat steamboat instead of usual haidilao. tbh ice cream taste like old school type if you missed but texture otherwise like milky and creamy (not suitable for lactose intolerant.)

My second visit here. Enjoyed this hybrid Japanese-Chinese hot pot. The tasty soup is nice compared to traditional Shabu Shabu.

This is a Chinese-style Japanese hot-pot, which makes it interesting. I took the miso soup base and enjoyed it. Regular Shabu Shabu soup base is plain like water. Worth it.

The soup base is fantastic with a good variety of choices. I tried the hot and spicy milk. It is very very spicy! Beware!

R&F Mall is a new swanky mall located near the Johor CIQ with a whole range of new F&B outlets.

Siong Tong Gai is a KL-based seafood restaurant which specialises in live steamed fish dishes.

You get to pick either a saltwater or freshwater fish and for RM50, it is served in Siong Tong Gai's signature broth which is sweet, savoury and spicy with inter alia loads of prawns, lala, sotong, chopped raw garlic and red chill, and served bubbling hot over a gas stove.

The patin fish was fresh, tender and subtly sweet without any of the bitter "muddy" which is associated with freshwater fish. This, coupled with the flavoursome broth, was without a doubt, the star of the night. We also loved their sweet and sour pork.

It's a little on the pricey side for food in JB but definitely worth a return visit.

Comfort food at its best. Food was cooked by steaming above a pot of porridge. The natural juices of the food dripped & cooked the porridge. Porridge will then be consumed once you are done with the food. Must order is 沙白 clams! Big, fresh & juicy!

This stylish restaurant along Jalan Beringin takes on seafood hot pot, and the star Baked Fish Hotpot (from RM70) that comes in a variety of soup flavours like tomato, sweet corn and Sichuan, is stellar. The fish (choose between red snapper, pomfret, grouper and barramundi) is marinated in spices and is baked to order. You should also make room for their Seafood Platter (RM49.90) filled with fresh squid and prawns, clams and sliced abalone, as well as the Fresh Mud Crab (from RM45.90).
